Answer capsule

The November 2026 Customer Service Software benchmark compares 10 companies across 275 AI answers that met its inclusion rules. Freshdesk leads with 157 recommendations (57.09% of answers). At least one tracked company was recommended in 182 answers; some answers recommended several companies.

The rankings distinguish being mentioned from receiving an affirmative recommendation, then examine placement and the wording used about each company. Earlier monthly results show how counts and rates changed, with each month using its own answer total. These results describe the answers reviewed, not product quality or customer satisfaction. Differences between monthly samples limit comparisons and do not establish why a result changed.

The leaderboard orders companies by how many answers affirmatively recommended them, so it measures recorded endorsement rather than overall presence. A company can appear often yet be recommended less often, which is why mention counts and recommendation counts answer different questions.

Ties require equal recommendation counts; near-equal totals are not ties. Placement figures are nested inside recommendations, so first-place and shortlist counts should be read as subsets rather than additional wins.

182 distinct answers recommended at least one tracked company. Counting each company recommendation separately gives 955, because an answer can recommend several companies. Answers with no tracked recommendation may still have recommended companies outside this comparison.

Every qualified answer mentioned at least one tracked company, but only about two-thirds recommended one. That gap shows that appearing in an answer and being endorsed are separate outcomes, and the difference is a meaningful part of the record.

Most answers that recommended a tracked company recommended more than one, so company totals exceed the number of answers. Coverage describes these answers only, not the wider market or companies outside the comparison.

Reach and affirmative recommendation

Freshdesk ranks 1 by recommendation count. Mentions: 249 (90.55%); recommendations: 157 (57.09%). Top 3 placements: 78 (28.36%); first-place placements: 22 (8.00%).

Wording about the company: 172 positive, 77 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 63.1%. The net framing score was 0.69 (defined in Methodology).

92 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 49.68% were Top 3 and 14.01% were first-place.

Freshdesk leads on recommendation count, but its mention total is slightly below Zendesk Chat's, illustrating that reach and endorsement diverge. The two leaders sit close together on recommendations, and that closeness should be read as a near-tie rather than a decisive margin.

A mention records appearance; a recommendation requires affirmative endorsement. Many mentions carried no recommendation, so reach alone does not establish support.

Placement describes where a recommended company appeared in an answer's ordering. Shortlist and first-place counts are subsets of recommendations, not separate achievements, and they share the same answer denominator.

Zendesk Chat's placements stand out relative to its recommendation total, while several companies are recommended but rarely placed near the top. Ordering and endorsement are related but distinct readings of the same answers.

Framing classifies the wording used about a company in the selected answers. Positive and neutral labels describe how the company was discussed, not customer sentiment, product quality or the reasons a recommendation appeared or did not.

No negative wording was recorded for any tracked company, so differences lie mainly in the balance of positive and neutral language. A high positive share does not by itself explain recommendation counts.

Company results in detail

Freshdesk

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Freshdesk mentions, recommendations and placement?

From October 2026 to November 2026, Freshdesk's mention count fell from 282 to 249, while its recommendation count fell from 222 to 157. The recommendation rate was 67.89% and 57.09% respectively.

Freshdesk holds the top recommendation count, with broad mention reach and a substantial share of its mentions accompanied by endorsement. Its wording is predominantly positive, and roughly half of its recommendations land in shortlist positions.

Compared with the prior month, both mentions and recommendations were lower, and the recommendation rate also declined. That is a recorded change in separate monthly samples; it does not establish why the shift occurred.

Intercom

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Intercom mentions, recommendations and placement?

Intercom ranks 2 by recommendation count. Mentions: 245 (89.09%); recommendations: 156 (56.73%). Top 3 placements: 60 (21.82%); first-place placements: 21 (7.64%).

Wording about the company: 171 positive, 74 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 63.7%. The net framing score was 0.70 (defined in Methodology).

89 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 38.46% were Top 3 and 13.46% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, Intercom's mention count rose from 235 to 245, while its recommendation count fell from 179 to 156. The recommendation rate was 54.74% and 56.73% respectively.

Intercom sits just behind the leader on recommendations while matching it closely on mention reach, making the top of the table a near-tie rather than a clear gap. Its recommendation-to-mention ratio is among the higher ones recorded.

Mentions rose slightly from the prior month while recommendations fell, so the two measures moved in different directions. The changed rate should be read as a comparison of separate samples, not as evidence of cause.

Zendesk Chat

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Zendesk Chat mentions, recommendations and placement?

Zendesk Chat ranks 3 by recommendation count. Mentions: 261 (94.91%); recommendations: 146 (53.09%). Top 3 placements: 91 (33.09%); first-place placements: 59 (21.45%).

Wording about the company: 162 positive, 99 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 55.9%. The net framing score was 0.62 (defined in Methodology).

115 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 62.33% were Top 3 and 40.41% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, Zendesk Chat's mention count rose from 112 to 261, while its recommendation count rose from 84 to 146. The recommendation rate was 25.69% and 53.09% respectively.

Zendesk Chat has the widest mention reach in the table and a strong placement profile, with a large share of its recommendations appearing near the top of answers. Its recommendation count trails the two leaders despite higher reach.

Both mentions and recommendations rose sharply from the prior month, and the recommendation rate increased alongside them. These are recorded comparisons across differing samples and do not explain the movement.

Help Scout

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Help Scout mentions, recommendations and placement?

Help Scout ranks 4 by recommendation count. Mentions: 195 (70.91%); recommendations: 118 (42.91%). Top 3 placements: 31 (11.27%); first-place placements: 8 (2.91%).

Wording about the company: 131 positive, 64 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 60.5%. The net framing score was 0.67 (defined in Methodology).

77 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 26.27% were Top 3 and 6.78% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, Help Scout's mention count rose from 183 to 195, while its recommendation count fell from 138 to 118. The recommendation rate was 42.20% and 42.91% respectively.

Help Scout records solid mention reach and a recommendation rate close to the middle of the table, with a moderate share of its mentions endorsed. Placements are comparatively modest, with few first-place appearances.

Mentions rose slightly from the prior month while recommendations fell, leaving the recommendation rate nearly flat. The mixed movement is a recorded comparison only and does not indicate a cause.

Zoho Inventory

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Zoho Inventory mentions, recommendations and placement?

Zoho Inventory ranks 5 by recommendation count. Mentions: 159 (57.82%); recommendations: 95 (34.55%). Top 3 placements: 25 (9.09%); first-place placements: 6 (2.18%).

Wording about the company: 100 positive, 59 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 59.7%. The net framing score was 0.63 (defined in Methodology).

64 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 26.32% were Top 3 and 6.32% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, Zoho Inventory's mention count rose from 1 to 159, while its recommendation count rose from 0 to 95. The recommendation rate was 0.00% and 34.55% respectively.

Zoho Inventory shows moderate reach and a recommendation rate in the middle of the field, with most of its mentions framed positively. Shortlist placements are limited and first-place appearances rare.

Its prior-month figures were near zero, so the current totals represent a large recorded change rather than a stable trend. A single earlier month cannot establish whether this is a lasting shift.

HubSpot Live Chat

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about HubSpot Live Chat mentions, recommendations and placement?

HubSpot Live Chat ranks 6 by recommendation count. Mentions: 173 (62.91%); recommendations: 88 (32.00%). Top 3 placements: 23 (8.36%); first-place placements: 2 (0.73%).

Wording about the company: 97 positive, 76 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 50.9%. The net framing score was 0.56 (defined in Methodology).

85 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 26.14% were Top 3 and 2.27% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, HubSpot Live Chat's mention count rose from 46 to 173, while its recommendation count rose from 32 to 88. The recommendation rate was 9.79% and 32.00% respectively.

HubSpot Live Chat records moderate mention reach but a lower recommendation-to-mention ratio, meaning many appearances carried no endorsement. First-place placements are especially rare relative to its recommendations.

Both mentions and recommendations rose from the prior month, and the recommendation rate increased with them. Because the monthly samples differ, the comparison shows recorded change without explaining it.

Gorgias

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Gorgias mentions, recommendations and placement?

Gorgias ranks 7 by recommendation count. Mentions: 128 (46.55%); recommendations: 82 (29.82%). Top 3 placements: 11 (4.00%); first-place placements: 5 (1.82%).

Wording about the company: 92 positive, 36 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 64.1%. The net framing score was 0.72 (defined in Methodology).

46 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 13.41% were Top 3 and 6.10% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, Gorgias' mention count rose from 108 to 128, while its recommendation count fell from 90 to 82. The recommendation rate was 27.52% and 29.82% respectively.

Gorgias has narrower mention reach than most of the table but one of the higher recommendation-to-mention ratios, so its appearances were often endorsed. Placement depth is limited, with few shortlist or first-place results.

Mentions rose from the prior month while recommendations fell slightly, and the recommendation rate edged up. These movements in separate samples should not be read as evidence of cause.

Salesforce Service Cloud

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Salesforce Service Cloud mentions, recommendations and placement?

Salesforce Service Cloud ranks 8 by recommendation count. Mentions: 152 (55.27%); recommendations: 67 (24.36%). Top 3 placements: 16 (5.82%); first-place placements: 5 (1.82%).

Wording about the company: 73 positive, 79 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 44.1%. The net framing score was 0.48 (defined in Methodology).

85 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 23.88% were Top 3 and 7.46% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, Salesforce Service Cloud's mention count fell from 162 to 152, while its recommendation count fell from 123 to 67. The recommendation rate was 37.61% and 24.36% respectively.

Salesforce Service Cloud records moderate reach with a comparatively low recommendation-to-mention ratio, and its wording is more often neutral than positive. Placements are modest relative to its recommendation total.

Both mentions and recommendations fell from the prior month, and the recommendation rate declined as well. The comparison describes recorded results across differing samples, not a reason for the change.

Front

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Front mentions, recommendations and placement?

Front ranks 9 by recommendation count. Mentions: 156 (56.73%); recommendations: 43 (15.64%). Top 3 placements: 7 (2.55%); first-place placements: 5 (1.82%).

Wording about the company: 45 positive, 111 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 27.6%. The net framing score was 0.29 (defined in Methodology).

113 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 16.28% were Top 3 and 11.63% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, Front's mention count rose from 82 to 156, while its recommendation count fell from 56 to 43. The recommendation rate was 17.13% and 15.64% respectively.

Front has mention reach comparable to mid-table companies but the lowest recommendation-to-mention ratio among them, and its wording is mostly neutral. Placements are few, though first-place appearances form a notable share of its small recommendation base.

Mentions rose from the prior month while recommendations fell, and the recommendation rate declined slightly. Sparse placement bases warrant caution when reading those shares.

Gladly

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Gladly mentions, recommendations and placement?

Gladly ranks 10 by recommendation count. Mentions: 9 (3.27%); recommendations: 3 (1.09%). Top 3 placements: 0 (0.00%); first-place placements: 0 (0.00%).

Wording about the company: 3 positive, 6 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 33.3%. The net framing score was 0.33 (defined in Methodology).

6 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 0.00% were Top 3 and 0.00% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, Gladly's mention count rose from 8 to 9, while its recommendation count rose from 2 to 3. The recommendation rate was 0.61% and 1.09% respectively.

Gladly records very few mentions and recommendations, with no shortlist or first-place placements. Its wording is mostly neutral across a small set of appearances.

Because the base is so small, the recommendation-to-mention ratio is fragile and should be read with caution. The slight month-to-month movement reflects a handful of answers and cannot support broader conclusions.

Only months with verified results are shown. Monthly sample coverage is listed in Methodology.

Each month is a separate sample of AI answers, and the number of included answers differs across months. Counts and rates therefore move for reasons the record cannot separate, and rank changes should not be read as stable standing.

Some companies show large swings between months, while others move modestly. These are recorded comparisons only; they do not establish why results changed or whether any pattern will persist.

What the November Rankings Show

The November results answer several distinct questions. Reach shows how often a company appeared; recommendation shows how often an answer affirmatively endorsed it; placement shows where endorsed companies sat in an answer's ordering; and framing describes the wording used. These measures can point in different directions for the same company.

Reading them together avoids treating presence as support or a single strong ratio as a trend. The figures describe the reviewed AI answers, not customers, sales or verified product facts, and the monthly samples differ.

Methodology

Questions This Section Answers

  • How were the November 2026 Customer Service Software AI visibility measures counted, and what do they not establish?

This benchmark has partial coverage: 3 of 3 planned question categories contributed usable observations; 0 contributed none. This describes question-category coverage, not demonstrated platform outages. Findings apply to the available answer set.

The month in the title is the reporting period. The exact dates when the original AI answers were collected have not been verified.

Each company is counted at most once in each answer that meets the benchmark rules. A recommendation requires both an affirmative endorsement and positive wording. Mention, recommendation, Top 3 and first-place rates use the full benchmark answer total. Top 3 and first-place results are included within recommendations, not added to them.

The recommendation-to-mention ratio divides recommendations by mentions. It describes AI answer wording, not customer conversion. Net framing is positive minus negative mentions, divided by all mentions, on a scale from -1 to +1. It does not measure customer satisfaction or company quality.

Market: US; 10 tracked companies. AI services represented: ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity.

Research screening totals (answer observations can include repeated questions):

The source does not provide a reader-facing definition of “reserved”; that screening label is reported without inferring a reason for exclusion. Only the included benchmark answers form the rate denominator.

One answer can mention or recommend several companies. Adding company totals would therefore count some answers more than once. The results describe the AI answers reviewed, not independently verified facts about the companies or their products.

July 2026 measured a different set of companies, so it is excluded from this comparison. August 2026 measured a different set of companies, so it is excluded from this comparison.

The answer samples differ between months. These comparisons show how the recorded results changed; they do not establish why they changed.

Findings apply to the available answer set, which covers part of the planned question categories; that coverage describes the questions, not platform failures. The reporting month is a label, and exact collection dates were not verified.

Each company is counted at most once per answer, and placement results are nested within recommendations. Ratios describe answer wording, not conversion, and framing scores do not measure customer satisfaction or company quality. Monthly samples differ, so comparisons show recorded change without establishing cause.
