Answer capsule

The November 2026 Accounting Software benchmark compares 10 companies across 523 AI answers that met its inclusion rules. Xero leads with 337 recommendations (64.44% of answers). At least one tracked company was recommended in 394 answers; some answers recommended several companies.

The rankings distinguish being mentioned from receiving an affirmative recommendation, then examine placement and the wording used about each company. Earlier monthly results show how counts and rates changed, with each month using its own answer total. These results describe the answers reviewed, not product quality or customer satisfaction. Differences between monthly samples limit comparisons and do not establish why a result changed.

The leaderboard orders companies by how many answers affirmatively recommended them, so it measures recorded endorsement rather than visibility. A company can appear often yet be recommended rarely, and the gap between mention rate and recommendation rate is where that distinction lives. Ties in recommendation counts share a rank; placement figures are nested inside recommendations, not separate wins.

394 distinct answers recommended at least one tracked company. Counting each company recommendation separately gives 1276, because an answer can recommend several companies. Answers with no tracked recommendation may still have recommended companies outside this comparison.

Every qualified answer mentioned at least one tracked company, but only about three in four recommended one. Most answers that recommended anything recommended several companies, so company totals overlap heavily. This coverage describes the reviewed answers, not market share or relative prominence among all accounting products.

Reach and affirmative recommendation

Xero ranks 1 by recommendation count. Mentions: 519 (99.24%); recommendations: 337 (64.44%). Top 3 placements: 255 (48.76%); first-place placements: 126 (24.09%).

Wording about the company: 377 positive, 141 neutral, 1 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 64.9%. The net framing score was 0.72 (defined in Methodology).

182 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 75.67% were Top 3 and 37.39% were first-place.

Mention means the company appeared in an answer; recommendation means the answer affirmatively endorsed it. Xero's near-universal mention rate sits well above its recommendation rate, so presence and endorsement answer different questions. The recorded wording was mostly positive, with a small neutral remainder and a single negative mention.

Placement describes where a recommended company sat in an answer's ordering. Top-three and first-place counts are subsets of recommendations, so they should not be added to recommendation totals or read as extra wins. Recommendation-to-mention ratios vary widely across companies and describe answer wording, not customer conversion or sales.

Framing classifies the wording used about a company in the selected answers. Positive wording dominates for several companies, while others appear mostly in neutral terms, which can coexist with frequent mention. Framing is not customer sentiment, product quality or an explanation of why recommendations occurred.

Company results in detail

The October-to-November comparison shows both counts and the recommendation rate lower, but the separate monthly samples do not establish why.

Wave

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Wave mentions, recommendations and placement?

Wave ranks 2 by recommendation count. Mentions: 471 (90.06%); recommendations: 318 (60.80%). Top 3 placements: 158 (30.21%); first-place placements: 34 (6.50%).

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about FreshBooks mentions, recommendations and placement?

FreshBooks ranks 3 by recommendation count. Mentions: 476 (91.01%); recommendations: 317 (60.61%). Top 3 placements: 238 (45.51%); first-place placements: 29 (5.54%).

FreshBooks ranks third, close to Wave on recommendation count and mention coverage. Its recommendations sit near the top of answers more often than Wave's, though first-place placements remain a small slice. Counts and the recommendation rate were lower than the previous month, and the differing samples limit causal reading.

QuickBooks Payroll

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about QuickBooks Payroll mentions, recommendations and placement?

QuickBooks Payroll ranks 4 by recommendation count. Mentions: 517 (98.85%); recommendations: 101 (19.31%). Top 3 placements: 89 (17.02%); first-place placements: 72 (13.77%).

QuickBooks Payroll appears in nearly every answer but is recommended in only a minority, and its wording is predominantly neutral. Among the recommendations it does receive, a large share are top-three and first-place placements. Both counts rose from the prior month, though the earlier base was small and the samples differ.

NetSuite

Questions This Section Answers

NetSuite is mentioned in roughly half the answers and recommended in a smaller portion, with balanced positive and neutral wording. Top-three and first-place placements are rare relative to its recommendation count. Its counts and rate were lower than in October, a recorded change the separate samples cannot explain.

Patriot Software

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Patriot Software mentions, recommendations and placement?

Patriot Software ranks 6 by recommendation count. Mentions: 68 (13.00%); recommendations: 57 (10.90%). Top 3 placements: 33 (6.31%); first-place placements: 9 (1.72%).

Wording about the company: 62 positive, 6 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 83.8%. The net framing score was 0.91 (defined in Methodology).

Wording is overwhelmingly positive, and over half its recommendations land in top-three positions. The small mention base means the strong ratio should be read with caution.

Sage Construction Management

Questions This Section Answers

Sage Construction Management ranks 7 by recommendation count. Mentions: 234 (44.74%); recommendations: 21 (4.02%). Top 3 placements: 2 (0.38%); first-place placements: 1 (0.19%).

Sage Construction Management is mentioned often but recommended rarely, and its wording is almost entirely neutral. Nearly all mentions carry no recommendation, and top-three placements are minimal. The prior month recorded no mentions at all, so the current figures mark a change in the recorded sample rather than a trend.

Bench

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Bench mentions, recommendations and placement?

Bench ranks 8 by recommendation count. Mentions: 44 (8.41%); recommendations: 17 (3.25%). Top 3 placements: 7 (1.34%); first-place placements: 4 (0.76%).

From October 2026 to November 2026, Bench's mention count rose from 37 to 44, while its recommendation count fell from 33 to 17. The recommendation rate was 5.61% and 3.25% respectively.

Bench has limited reach, with mentions split between positive and neutral wording. Its recommendation-to-mention ratio is moderate, and a meaningful share of its recommendations reach first place. Mentions rose while recommendations fell compared with October, a mixed recorded movement that the samples do not explain.

Zoho Inventory

Questions This Section Answers

The recommendation-to-mention ratio is correspondingly low, and placements are sparse. Mentions rose sharply while recommendations fell slightly, a contrast the separate monthly samples cannot account for.

Kashoo

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Kashoo mentions, recommendations and placement?

Kashoo ranks 10 by recommendation count. Mentions: 9 (1.72%); recommendations: 6 (1.15%). Top 3 placements: 1 (0.19%); first-place placements: 1 (0.19%).

What the November Rankings Show

Reach, recommendation, placement and framing answer different questions. Reach shows whether a company appeared; recommendation shows whether the answer affirmatively endorsed it; placement shows where endorsements sat; framing describes the wording used. A company can be highly visible yet rarely recommended, or rarely mentioned yet endorsed when it appears. These are descriptions of the reviewed answers, not measures of customer preference, product quality or commercial outcomes.

Methodology

Questions This Section Answers

  • How were the November 2026 Accounting Software AI visibility measures counted, and what do they not establish?

This benchmark has partial coverage: 3 of 3 planned question categories contributed usable observations; 0 contributed none. This describes question-category coverage, not demonstrated platform outages. Findings apply to the available answer set.

The month in the title is the reporting period. The exact dates when the original AI answers were collected have not been verified.

Each company is counted at most once in each answer that meets the benchmark rules. A recommendation requires both an affirmative endorsement and positive wording. Mention, recommendation, Top 3 and first-place rates use the full benchmark answer total. Top 3 and first-place results are included within recommendations, not added to them.

The recommendation-to-mention ratio divides recommendations by mentions. It describes AI answer wording, not customer conversion. Net framing is positive minus negative mentions, divided by all mentions, on a scale from -1 to +1. It does not measure customer satisfaction or company quality.

Market: US; 10 tracked companies. AI services represented: ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity.

Research screening totals (answer observations can include repeated questions):

The source does not provide a reader-facing definition of “reserved”; that screening label is reported without inferring a reason for exclusion. Only the included benchmark answers form the rate denominator.

One answer can mention or recommend several companies. Adding company totals would therefore count some answers more than once. The results describe the AI answers reviewed, not independently verified facts about the companies or their products.

July 2026 measured a different set of companies, so it is excluded from this comparison.

The answer samples differ between months. These comparisons show how the recorded results changed; they do not establish why they changed.

Findings apply only to the included answer set, which covers part of the planned question categories and six AI services. The exact collection dates are unverified, and the month label is the reporting period. Each company is counted at most once per answer, and top-three and first-place results are contained within recommendations. Recommendation-to-mention ratios and framing scores describe answer wording, not customers, sales or company quality. Monthly samples differ, so comparisons show recorded change without establishing cause.
