Answer capsule

The November 2026 Mattresses benchmark compares 6 companies across 597 AI answers that met its inclusion rules. Nectar Sleep leads with 139 recommendations (23.28% of answers). At least one tracked company was recommended in 245 answers; some answers recommended several companies.

The rankings distinguish being mentioned from receiving an affirmative recommendation, then examine placement and the wording used about each company. Earlier monthly results show how counts and rates changed, with each month using its own answer total. These results describe the answers reviewed, not product quality or customer satisfaction. Differences between monthly samples limit comparisons and do not establish why a result changed.

The leaderboard orders companies by how many recorded answers affirmatively recommended them. That count is not the same as reach: a company can appear in many answers without being endorsed in most of them. Ties would require equal recommendation counts, so near-neighbors in the table are not necessarily tied.

Mentions, recommendations, shortlist placements and first-place placements answer different questions. Placements are nested within recommendations, so they should be read as position within endorsements rather than as separate wins. Rates use the full benchmark answer total, which keeps companies comparable despite differing mention volumes.

245 distinct answers recommended at least one tracked company. Counting each company recommendation separately gives 557, because an answer can recommend several companies. Answers with no tracked recommendation may still have recommended companies outside this comparison.

Every qualified answer mentioned at least one tracked company, but fewer than half recommended one. That gap shows that appearing in an answer and being affirmatively endorsed are distinct outcomes, and the benchmark should not treat presence as support.

Multiple tracked companies were recommended in a substantial minority of answers, so company totals overlap and cannot be summed into a market share. Answers without a tracked recommendation may still have named companies outside this comparison, which limits any claim about overall market coverage.

Reach and affirmative recommendation

Nectar Sleep ranks 1 by recommendation count. Mentions: 406 (68.01%); recommendations: 139 (23.28%). Top 3 placements: 88 (14.74%); first-place placements: 47 (7.87%).

Wording about the company: 160 positive, 246 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 34.2%. The net framing score was 0.39 (defined in Methodology).

267 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 63.31% were Top 3 and 33.81% were first-place.

Nectar Sleep leads on recommendation count while appearing in roughly two-thirds of answers. Its mentions are mostly neutral in wording, and only about a third of its mentions also carried a recommendation. Reach is therefore broader than endorsement for this company.

A recommendation requires both affirmative endorsement and positive wording, so the remaining mentions are not failed recommendations; they are appearances without recorded endorsement. The gap between mention and recommendation is the central reading here, not a shortfall to be explained.

Placement counts are subsets of recommendations, not additions to them. A company with many recommendations can still have a modest share of them in shortlist or first position, and the table should be read that way rather than as a separate contest.

Recommendation-to-mention ratios vary widely across companies, and the highest ratio belongs to the company with the fewest mentions, so that strong figure rests on a sparse base. These ratios describe recorded answer wording, not customer conversion or sales.

Framing classifies the wording around each mention as positive, neutral or negative. Neutral wording dominates for most companies, and negative wording is nearly absent, so the net framing score mostly reflects the balance of positive against neutral rather than any recorded criticism.

Framing is not customer sentiment or a judgment of company quality, and it does not explain why recommendations occurred or did not occur. A higher score indicates more favorable wording in these answers, nothing more.

Only months with verified results are shown. Monthly sample coverage is listed in Methodology.

Only one reporting month has verified results, so the table shows a single snapshot rather than a trend. Counts, rates and coverage should be read together: the same answer total underlies every rate, while company counts overlap because one answer can recommend several companies.

Earlier months are unavailable, and that gap is not a zero result. Monthly samples are separate selections, so comparisons across months would describe recorded change without establishing why it occurred.

What the November Rankings Show

The November results show that reach, recommendation, placement and framing answer different questions. A company can appear widely without being endorsed often, and a company can be endorsed at a high rate on a narrow base. Reading only the ranking would hide that distinction.

Placement adds position within endorsements, while framing describes the wording around mentions rather than customer sentiment. Together these measures describe what the reviewed AI answers said, not what customers think or what companies did. The single-month scope and overlapping company totals limit any broader claim.

Methodology

Questions This Section Answers

  • How were the November 2026 Mattresses AI visibility measures counted, and what do they not establish?

This benchmark has partial coverage: 3 of 3 planned question categories contributed usable observations; 0 contributed none. This describes question-category coverage, not demonstrated platform outages. Findings apply to the available answer set.

The month in the title is the reporting period. The exact dates when the original AI answers were collected have not been verified.

Each company is counted at most once in each answer that meets the benchmark rules. A recommendation requires both an affirmative endorsement and positive wording. Mention, recommendation, Top 3 and first-place rates use the full benchmark answer total. Top 3 and first-place results are included within recommendations, not added to them.

The recommendation-to-mention ratio divides recommendations by mentions. It describes AI answer wording, not customer conversion. Net framing is positive minus negative mentions, divided by all mentions, on a scale from -1 to +1. It does not measure customer satisfaction or company quality.

Market: US; 6 tracked companies. AI services represented: ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity.

The source does not provide a reader-facing definition of “reserved”; that screening label is reported without inferring a reason for exclusion. Only the included benchmark answers form the rate denominator.

One answer can mention or recommend several companies. Adding company totals would therefore count some answers more than once. The results describe the AI answers reviewed, not independently verified facts about the companies or their products.

Reliable results for October 2026 are unavailable. This is a gap in the history, not a result of zero.

The answer samples differ between months. These comparisons show how the recorded results changed; they do not establish why they changed.

The benchmark covers a partial set of planned question categories, and findings apply only to the answers reviewed. The reporting month is a label; exact collection dates were not verified, and one answer can mention or recommend several companies, so company totals overlap.

Recommendation requires affirmative endorsement plus positive wording, and placement results are nested within recommendations. Net framing compares positive and negative wording and does not measure customer satisfaction or company quality. Reliable prior-month results are unavailable, and that gap is not a zero result.
