Answer capsule

The November 2026 Mortgage benchmark compares 6 companies across 540 AI answers that met its inclusion rules. Rocket Mortgage leads with 358 recommendations (66.30% of answers). At least one tracked company was recommended in 402 answers; some answers recommended several companies.

The rankings distinguish being mentioned from receiving an affirmative recommendation, then examine placement and the wording used about each company. Earlier monthly results show how counts and rates changed, with each month using its own answer total. These results describe the answers reviewed, not product quality or customer satisfaction. Differences between monthly samples limit comparisons and do not establish why a result changed.

The leaderboard orders companies by how many answers affirmatively recommended them, so it measures recorded endorsement rather than general visibility. A company can appear often yet be recommended less often, which is why mention counts and recommendation counts answer different questions.

Ties matter: equal recommendation counts share a rank, and the printed order should not be read as a unique winner. Placement figures are nested inside recommendations, so first-place and shortlist counts are subsets, not separate tallies to add.

402 distinct answers recommended at least one tracked company. Counting each company recommendation separately gives 999, because an answer can recommend several companies. Answers with no tracked recommendation may still have recommended companies outside this comparison.

Every qualified answer mentioned at least one tracked company, but only about three in four recommended one. That gap separates appearance from endorsement: being named in an answer is not the same as being put forward as a choice.

Most answers that recommended a tracked company recommended more than one, so company totals overlap and cannot be summed into a market share. Answers without a tracked recommendation may still have named companies outside this comparison, so the coverage figures describe this set only.

Reach and affirmative recommendation

Rocket Mortgage ranks 1 by recommendation count. Mentions: 528 (97.78%); recommendations: 358 (66.30%). Top 3 placements: 339 (62.78%); first-place placements: 235 (43.52%).

Wording about the company: 401 positive, 125 neutral, 2 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 67.8%. The net framing score was 0.76 (defined in Methodology).

170 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 94.69% were Top 3 and 65.64% were first-place.

Rocket Mortgage illustrates the difference between reach and endorsement: it appears in nearly every answer but is recommended in roughly two-thirds of them. The remaining mentions carried no recorded recommendation, so presence alone overstates affirmative support.

A tie in recommendation counts is a tie, not a hidden winner. The recommendation-to-mention ratio describes the wording of these answers, not customer behavior, and a high ratio on a small base should be read with that caution.

Placement describes where a recommended company sits in an answer's ordering. Shortlist placements are a subset of recommendations, and first-place placements are a subset of shortlists, so these counts should not be added together or treated as extra wins.

Companies differ in how often their recommendations land near the top. That pattern reflects answer ordering in this sample, not consumer conversion, purchase intent or a ranking of product quality.

Framing classifies the wording surrounding each mention as positive, neutral or negative. It is not customer sentiment, reputation or a judgment of company quality, and it does not explain why a recommendation was or was not recorded.

Most mentions in this sample were positive or neutral, with negative wording rare. Neutral wording still counts as a mention, so a large neutral share can accompany a modest recommendation rate without implying dissatisfaction.

Rocket Mortgage leads on recommendation count and appears in almost every answer, giving it the broadest reach in this sample. Its recommendations are frequently placed near the top, and first-place placements form a large share of its recommended mentions.

Its framing is overwhelmingly positive or neutral, with negative wording rare. The month-to-month comparison shows both mentions and recommendations lower than in the prior sample; the recorded change does not establish why it occurred.

Veterans United Home Loans

Questions This Section Answers

Veterans United Home Loans ranks 2 by recommendation count. Mentions: 355 (65.74%); recommendations: 256 (47.41%). Top 3 placements: 231 (42.78%); first-place placements: 107 (19.81%).

Wording about the company: 298 positive, 57 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 72.1%. The net framing score was 0.84 (defined in Methodology).

99 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 90.23% were Top 3 and 41.80% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, Veterans United Home Loans' mention count fell from 359 to 355, while its recommendation count fell from 282 to 256. The recommendation rate was 45.56% and 47.41% respectively.

Veterans United holds the second position by recommendation count, with a mention rate well below Rocket Mortgage's but a slightly higher recommendation-to-mention ratio. Its recorded wording is positive or neutral throughout, with no negative mentions in this sample.

Shortlist placements account for most of its recommendations, while first-place placements are a smaller portion. Both mentions and recommendations were lower than in the prior month, a comparison that does not explain the movement.

loanDepot

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about loanDepot mentions, recommendations and placement?

loanDepot ranks 3 by recommendation count. Mentions: 294 (54.44%); recommendations: 154 (28.52%). Top 3 placements: 133 (24.63%); first-place placements: 16 (2.96%).

Wording about the company: 193 positive, 101 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 52.4%. The net framing score was 0.66 (defined in Methodology).

140 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 86.36% were Top 3 and 10.39% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, loanDepot's mention count rose from 262 to 294, while its recommendation count fell from 219 to 154. The recommendation rate was 35.38% and 28.52% respectively.

loanDepot ranks third by recommendation count in this month's answers. Its mentions appear in a little over half of the recorded answers, and recommendations are affirmative endorsements in roughly a quarter. The proportion of mentions that also carried a recommendation describes the recorded answers only, not customer behaviour or sales.

Wording around the company was mostly positive with a substantial neutral share and no negative mentions. First-place placements form a small subset of its recommendations, so most endorsement sits further down the ordering. Mentions rose while recommendations fell against the prior sample; the figures record that divergence without identifying a cause.

New American Funding

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about New American Funding mentions, recommendations and placement?

New American Funding ranks 4 by recommendation count. Mentions: 143 (26.48%); recommendations: 102 (18.89%). Top 3 placements: 91 (16.85%); first-place placements: 5 (0.93%).

Wording about the company: 125 positive, 18 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 71.3%. The net framing score was 0.87 (defined in Methodology).

41 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 89.22% were Top 3 and 4.90% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, New American Funding's mention count rose from 104 to 143, while its recommendation count rose from 92 to 102. The recommendation rate was 14.86% and 18.89% respectively.

New American Funding ranks fourth by recommendation count on a comparatively small mention base, yet its recommendation-to-mention ratio is among the higher ones recorded here. That ratio rests on a modest number of mentions and should be read with that limitation in mind.

Its wording is mostly positive with little neutral framing and no negative mentions. Both mentions and recommendations were higher than in the prior sample, a recorded comparison rather than evidence of improvement.

PennyMac

Questions This Section Answers

Its framing is split between positive and neutral wording, with a single negative mention. Both mentions and recommendations were lower than in the prior sample; the recorded decline does not establish why it happened.

Only months with verified results are shown. Monthly sample coverage is listed in Methodology.

Each month is a separate sample of AI answers, and the number of answers included differs across months. Counts and rates therefore should be read together rather than compared as if the samples were identical.

Rank positions in earlier months describe those samples, not a stable ordering. A changed count or rate does not by itself demonstrate improvement, lost standing or the effect of any intervention.

What the November Rankings Show

These sections answer different questions. Reach asks whether a company appeared at all; recommendation asks whether the answer affirmatively endorsed it; placement asks where an endorsed company sat in the ordering; framing asks how the surrounding wording was classified. None of these substitutes for another.

A company can be widely mentioned yet rarely recommended, or recommended often but seldom placed first. Reading the measures together gives a fuller picture of the recorded answers, while each remains a description of wording in this sample rather than a claim about customers, sales or company quality.

Methodology

Questions This Section Answers

  • How were the November 2026 Mortgage AI visibility measures counted, and what do they not establish?

This benchmark has partial coverage: 3 of 3 planned question categories contributed usable observations; 0 contributed none. This describes question-category coverage, not demonstrated platform outages. Findings apply to the available answer set.

The month in the title is the reporting period. The exact dates when the original AI answers were collected have not been verified.

Each company is counted at most once in each answer that meets the benchmark rules. A recommendation requires both an affirmative endorsement and positive wording. Mention, recommendation, Top 3 and first-place rates use the full benchmark answer total. Top 3 and first-place results are included within recommendations, not added to them.

The recommendation-to-mention ratio divides recommendations by mentions. It describes AI answer wording, not customer conversion. Net framing is positive minus negative mentions, divided by all mentions, on a scale from -1 to +1. It does not measure customer satisfaction or company quality.

Market: US; 6 tracked companies. AI services represented: ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity.

Research screening totals (answer observations can include repeated questions):

The source does not provide a reader-facing definition of “reserved”; that screening label is reported without inferring a reason for exclusion. Only the included benchmark answers form the rate denominator.

One answer can mention or recommend several companies. Adding company totals would therefore count some answers more than once. The results describe the AI answers reviewed, not independently verified facts about the companies or their products.

The answer samples differ between months. These comparisons show how the recorded results changed; they do not establish why they changed.

The benchmark covers a partial set of answers, and the exact collection dates for the original AI answers have not been verified. Each company is counted at most once per qualifying answer, and a recommendation requires both affirmative endorsement and positive wording.

Rates use the full benchmark answer total, and placement results are nested within recommendations rather than added to them. One answer can name several companies, so company totals overlap. The recommendation-to-mention ratio and net framing describe answer wording, not customer conversion, satisfaction or company quality. Monthly samples differ, and comparisons show recorded change without establishing its cause.
