Answer capsule

The November 2026 Boat Insurance benchmark compares 10 companies across 100 AI answers that met its inclusion rules. State Farm leads with 45 recommendations (45.00% of answers). At least one tracked company was recommended in 50 answers; some answers recommended several companies.

The rankings distinguish being mentioned from receiving an affirmative recommendation, then examine placement and the wording used about each company. Earlier monthly results show how counts and rates changed, with each month using its own answer total. These results describe the answers reviewed, not product quality or customer satisfaction. Differences between monthly samples limit comparisons and do not establish why a result changed.

The leaderboard orders companies by how many answers affirmatively recommended them, so it measures recorded endorsement volume rather than overall presence. A company can appear in nearly every answer yet be recommended in fewer than half, which is why mention counts and recommendation counts answer different questions. Ties reflect equal recommendation totals and do not imply identical placement or framing. Top-three and first-place results sit inside recommendations, not beside them.

50 distinct answers recommended at least one tracked company. Counting each company recommendation separately gives 238, because an answer can recommend several companies. Answers with no tracked recommendation may still have recommended companies outside this comparison.

Every included answer mentioned at least one tracked company, but only half recommended one. Because a single answer can endorse several companies, company-level recommendation totals exceed the number of answers carrying any recommendation. This overlap means coverage describes how widely tracked names appear across answers, not market share or dominance. Answers without a tracked recommendation may still have named companies outside this comparison.

Reach and affirmative recommendation

State Farm ranks 1 by recommendation count. Mentions: 100 (100.00%); recommendations: 45 (45.00%). Top 3 placements: 21 (21.00%); first-place placements: 5 (5.00%).

Wording about the company: 55 positive, 45 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 45.0%. The net framing score was 0.55 (defined in Methodology).

55 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 46.67% were Top 3 and 11.11% were first-place.

State Farm leads on recommendation count, but its mentions and recommendations are distinct measures: presence in an answer is not endorsement. The gap between the two shows many answers named the company without recommending it. Ranking first by recommendation count does not establish a unique winner on every dimension, and ties elsewhere reflect equal totals rather than shared placement or framing.

Placement describes where a recommended company appeared in an answer's ordering. Top-three and first-place counts are nested within recommendations, so they should not be added to recommendation totals or read as separate wins. A company recommended often may still be placed first rarely, and the reverse can occur. These positions describe answer wording, not customer choice or conversion.

Framing classifies the wording surrounding each mention as positive, neutral or negative. Most tracked companies drew no negative wording in this sample, and neutral wording was common. A positive framing score does not show why a recommendation occurred, nor does it measure customer sentiment or company quality. Framing and recommendation are recorded separately and can diverge.

From October 2026 to November 2026, USAA's mention count fell from 136 to 97, while its recommendation count fell from 91 to 42. The recommendation rate was 66.42% and 42.00% respectively.

USAA ranks second by recommendation count and appears in nearly every answer, with endorsements in under half of them. Wording was split between positive and neutral, with no negatives. Its recommendation-to-mention ratio is close to State Farm's. Compared with October, both mentions and recommendations were lower; the samples differ between months, so the comparison does not explain the movement.

BoatUS (Geico)

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about BoatUS (Geico) mentions, recommendations and placement?

BoatUS (Geico) ranks 3 by recommendation count. Mentions: 98 (98.00%); recommendations: 41 (41.00%). Top 3 placements: 29 (29.00%); first-place placements: 11 (11.00%).

Wording about the company: 42 positive, 56 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 41.8%. The net framing score was 0.43 (defined in Methodology).

57 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 70.73% were Top 3 and 26.83% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, BoatUS (Geico)'s mention count rose from 0 to 98, while its recommendation count rose from 0 to 41. The recommendation rate was 0.00% and 41.00% respectively.

BoatUS (Geico) ranks third by recommendation count, and its endorsements are unusually concentrated near the top of answer orderings: most of its recommendations were top-three placements and a substantial share were first-place. Wording leaned neutral over positive, with no negatives. It recorded no mentions or recommendations in October, so the month-to-month comparison reflects a change from a zero base rather than a trend.

Progressive

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Progressive mentions, recommendations and placement?

Progressive ranks 4 by recommendation count. Mentions: 99 (99.00%); recommendations: 39 (39.00%). Top 3 placements: 17 (17.00%); first-place placements: 1 (1.00%).

Wording about the company: 49 positive, 50 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 39.4%. The net framing score was 0.49 (defined in Methodology).

From October 2026 to November 2026, Progressive's mention count fell from 135 to 99, while its recommendation count fell from 82 to 39. The recommendation rate was 59.85% and 39.00% respectively.

Progressive appears in almost every answer but is recommended in fewer than half, and first-place placements are rare relative to its recommendation total. Positive and neutral wording were nearly balanced, with no negatives. Its recommendation-to-mention ratio is moderate. Both mentions and recommendations were lower than in October, a recorded comparison across separate monthly samples that does not establish why.

Travelers

Questions This Section Answers

Travelers shares a recommendation total with Progressive but differs in placement: a large share of its recommendations were top-three, and first-place placements were comparatively frequent. Positive and neutral wording were nearly even, with no negatives. Its recommendation-to-mention ratio is moderate. Mentions and recommendations were both lower than in October, a change the evidence does not explain.

Allstate

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Allstate mentions, recommendations and placement?

Allstate ranks 6 by recommendation count. Mentions: 90 (90.00%); recommendations: 16 (16.00%). Top 3 placements: 3 (3.00%); first-place placements: 1 (1.00%).

Wording about the company: 23 positive, 67 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 17.8%. The net framing score was 0.26 (defined in Methodology).

From October 2026 to November 2026, Allstate's mention count fell from 110 to 90, while its recommendation count fell from 55 to 16. The recommendation rate was 40.15% and 16.00% respectively.

Allstate appears in most answers but is recommended in a small fraction of them, giving it a low recommendation-to-mention ratio. Neutral wording dominated, with positive mentions fewer and no negatives. Top-three and first-place placements were rare. Both mentions and recommendations were lower than in October; the comparison is recorded without attributing the movement to sample size or any other cause.

Nationwide

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Nationwide mentions, recommendations and placement?

Nationwide ranks 7 by recommendation count. Mentions: 94 (94.00%); recommendations: 14 (14.00%). Top 3 placements: 2 (2.00%); first-place placements: 1 (1.00%).

Wording about the company: 21 positive, 73 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 14.9%. The net framing score was 0.22 (defined in Methodology).

80 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 14.29% were Top 3 and 7.14% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, Nationwide's mention count rose from 83 to 94, while its recommendation count fell from 49 to 14. The recommendation rate was 35.77% and 14.00% respectively.

Nationwide is mentioned in most answers yet recommended in relatively few, and its recommendation-to-mention ratio is among the lowest of the frequently mentioned companies. Neutral wording strongly outnumbered positive, with no negatives. Placements near the top were rare. Mentions were higher than in October while recommendations were lower, so the two measures moved in different directions.

Markel

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Markel mentions, recommendations and placement?

Markel ranks 8 by recommendation count. Mentions: 3 (3.00%); recommendations: 1 (1.00%). Top 3 placements: 0 (0.00%); first-place placements: 0 (0.00%).

Wording about the company: 1 positive, 2 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 33.3%. The net framing score was 0.33 (defined in Methodology).

2 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 0.00% were Top 3 and 0.00% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, Markel's mention count rose from 1 to 3, while its recommendation count rose from 0 to 1. The recommendation rate was 0.00% and 1.00% respectively.

Markel appears in only a handful of answers, so its profile rests on a sparse base. It recorded a single recommendation and no top-three or first-place placements; wording was mostly neutral with one positive mention and no negatives. Its recommendation-to-mention ratio should be read cautiously given how few mentions underlie it. The prior month recorded no recommendations.

National General

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about National General mentions, recommendations and placement?

National General ranks 8 by recommendation count. Mentions: 8 (8.00%); recommendations: 1 (1.00%). Top 3 placements: 1 (1.00%); first-place placements: 0 (0.00%).

Wording about the company: 1 positive, 7 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 12.5%. The net framing score was 0.13 (defined in Methodology).

7 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 100.00% were Top 3 and 0.00% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, National General's mention count fell from 13 to 8, while its recommendation count fell from 7 to 1. The recommendation rate was 5.11% and 1.00% respectively.

National General appears in few answers and was recommended once, with that single recommendation placed in the top three. Wording was overwhelmingly neutral, with one positive mention and no negatives. Because the base is small, the recommendation-to-mention ratio is fragile and should be read alongside the raw counts. Both mentions and recommendations were lower than in October.

Foremost Insurance

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Foremost Insurance mentions, recommendations and placement?

Foremost Insurance ranks 10 by recommendation count. Mentions: 2 (2.00%); recommendations: 0 (0.00%). Top 3 placements: 0 (0.00%); first-place placements: 0 (0.00%).

2 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, Unavailable were Top 3 and Unavailable were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, Foremost Insurance's mention count rose from 1 to 2, while its recommendation count stayed at 0. The recommendation rate was 0.00% and 0.00% respectively.

Foremost Insurance recorded mentions in a very small number of answers and no recommendations, so its placement counts are also zero. Both mentions were neutral, with no positive or negative wording. Ratios requiring a nonzero recommendation base are undefined here rather than missing. Mentions rose slightly from October while recommendations stayed at zero.

Only months with verified results are shown. Monthly sample coverage is listed in Methodology.

Each month is a separate sample of AI answers, and the included answer totals differ across months. Counts, rates and ranks should be read together rather than in isolation, since a rate can shift while a count moves differently. The comparisons show how recorded results changed; they do not establish why, nor do they demonstrate rank stability or equivalent sampling.

What the November Rankings Show

These measures answer different questions. Mentions show whether a company appeared at all; recommendations show affirmative endorsement; placements show where endorsements fell in an answer's ordering; framing describes the wording around a mention. A company can be widely mentioned yet rarely recommended, or recommended often yet seldom placed first. None of these measures captures customer behavior, sales or company quality, and the recorded differences across months are comparisons, not explanations.

Methodology

Questions This Section Answers

This benchmark has partial coverage: 1 of 3 planned question categories contributed usable observations; 2 contributed none. This describes question-category coverage, not demonstrated platform outages. Findings apply to the available answer set.

The month in the title is the reporting period. The exact dates when the original AI answers were collected have not been verified.

Each company is counted at most once in each answer that meets the benchmark rules. A recommendation requires both an affirmative endorsement and positive wording. Mention, recommendation, Top 3 and first-place rates use the full benchmark answer total. Top 3 and first-place results are included within recommendations, not added to them.

The recommendation-to-mention ratio divides recommendations by mentions. It describes AI answer wording, not customer conversion. Net framing is positive minus negative mentions, divided by all mentions, on a scale from -1 to +1. It does not measure customer satisfaction or company quality.

Market: US; 10 tracked companies. AI services represented: ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity.

The source does not provide a reader-facing definition of “reserved”; that screening label is reported without inferring a reason for exclusion. Only the included benchmark answers form the rate denominator.

One answer can mention or recommend several companies. Adding company totals would therefore count some answers more than once. The results describe the AI answers reviewed, not independently verified facts about the companies or their products.

July 2026 measured a different set of companies, so it is excluded from this comparison. August 2026 measured a different set of companies, so it is excluded from this comparison.

The answer samples differ between months. These comparisons show how the recorded results changed; they do not establish why they changed.

Coverage is partial: only one of three planned question categories contributed usable observations, so findings apply to the available answer set rather than the full intended scope. The reporting month labels the period, but exact collection dates are unverified. Each company counts at most once per answer, and top-three and first-place results are contained within recommendations. Rates use the full benchmark answer total, and one answer can name several companies, so company totals overlap. Net framing and recommendation-to-mention ratios describe answer wording, not customer sentiment or conversion.
