Answer capsule
The November 2026 Best Banks benchmark compares 8 companies across 272 AI answers that met its inclusion rules. Ally Bank leads with 118 recommendations (43.38% of answers). At least one tracked company was recommended in 127 answers; some answers recommended several companies.
The rankings distinguish being mentioned from receiving an affirmative recommendation, then examine placement and the wording used about each company. Earlier monthly results show how counts and rates changed, with each month using its own answer total. These results describe the answers reviewed, not product quality or customer satisfaction. Differences between monthly samples limit comparisons and do not establish why a result changed.

Questions This Section Answers
- How do Best Banks rank by recorded AI recommendations in November 2026?
Rank | Company | Recommendations | Recommendation rate | Mention rate | Top 3 rate | #1 rate | Net sentiment |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Ally Bank | 118 | 43.38% | 73.53% | 36.03% | 21.32% | 0.60 |
2 | Marcus by Goldman Sachs | 106 | 38.97% | 69.49% | 26.10% | 9.93% | 0.58 |
3 | Bank of America Corp. | 10 | 3.68% | 41.18% | 2.21% | 0.00% | 0.09 |
4 | Chase Credit Journey | 7 | 2.57% | 43.75% | 1.10% | 0.37% | 0.04 |
5 | Capital One Platinum Mastercard | 6 | 2.21% | 8.46% | 2.21% | 1.10% | 0.26 |
6 | Discover Home Loans | 3 | 1.10% | 17.28% | 0.00% | 0.00% | 0.06 |
6 | U.S. Bancorp | 3 | 1.10% | 30.88% | 0.37% | 0.37% | 0.04 |
6 | Wells Fargo & Co. | 3 | 1.10% | 33.82% | 0.00% | 0.00% | 0.02 |
The leaderboard orders companies by how many answers affirmatively recommended them, not by how often they appeared. A company can be mentioned frequently yet rarely endorsed, so mention counts and recommendation counts answer different questions.
Ties reflect equal recommendation counts, not equal placement or framing. Top-three and first-place placements are subsets of recommendations, so they should be read within that base rather than added to it.

Questions This Section Answers
- How often did the November 2026 Best Banks answer sample recommend any tracked company?
Answer-level result | Qualified answers | Share of qualified answers |
|---|---|---|
At least one tracked company mentioned | 272 | 100.00% |
At least one tracked company recommended | 127 | 46.69% |
No tracked company recommended | 145 | 53.31% |
Multiple tracked companies recommended | 105 | 38.60% |
127 distinct answers recommended at least one tracked company. Counting each company recommendation separately gives 256, because an answer can recommend several companies. Answers with no tracked recommendation may still have recommended companies outside this comparison.
Every qualified answer mentioned at least one tracked company, but fewer than half recommended one. That gap separates presence from endorsement: appearing in an answer is not the same as being put forward as a choice.
Multiple tracked companies were recommended in a substantial share of answers, so company totals overlap. Coverage here describes these answers, not overall market dominance or share of any real market.
Reach and affirmative recommendation
Ally Bank ranks 1 by recommendation count. Mentions: 200 (73.53%); recommendations: 118 (43.38%). Top 3 placements: 98 (36.03%); first-place placements: 58 (21.32%).
Wording about the company: 121 positive, 77 neutral, 2 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 59.0%. The net framing score was 0.60 (defined in Methodology).
82 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 83.05% were Top 3 and 49.15% were first-place.
Ally Bank leads on recommendation count, and its mentions far outnumber its recommendations. The difference marks answers where the company appeared without an affirmative endorsement, which is why reach and recommendation are reported separately.
A high placement share among recommendations describes ordering within endorsed answers. It does not show that the company was chosen more often than a tied peer, since ties reflect equal recommendation counts.
Recommendation order and placement
Company | Mentions | Recommendation-to-mention ratio | Top 3 / #1 counts | Positive / neutral / negative mentions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Ally Bank | 200 | 59.0% | 98 / 58 | 121 / 77 / 2 |
Marcus by Goldman Sachs | 189 | 56.1% | 71 / 27 | 109 / 80 / 0 |
Bank of America Corp. | 112 | 8.9% | 6 / 0 | 10 / 102 / 0 |
Chase Credit Journey | 119 | 5.9% | 3 / 1 | 7 / 110 / 2 |
Capital One Platinum Mastercard | 23 | 26.1% | 6 / 3 | 6 / 17 / 0 |
Discover Home Loans | 47 | 6.4% | 0 / 0 | 3 / 44 / 0 |
U.S. Bancorp | 84 | 3.6% | 1 / 1 | 3 / 81 / 0 |
Wells Fargo & Co. | 92 | 3.3% | 0 / 0 | 3 / 88 / 1 |
Placement counts are nested inside recommendations: first-place results sit within top-three results, which sit within recommendations. They should not be summed as separate wins, and they describe answer ordering rather than customer conversion.
Recommendation-to-mention ratios vary widely across companies. Where the mention base is small, a strong ratio rests on few observations and should be read cautiously rather than as a stable pattern.
Classified framing in context
Company | Positive | Neutral | Negative |
|---|---|---|---|
Ally Bank | 121 | 77 | 2 |
Marcus by Goldman Sachs | 109 | 80 | 0 |
Bank of America Corp. | 10 | 102 | 0 |
Chase Credit Journey | 7 | 110 | 2 |
Capital One Platinum Mastercard | 6 | 17 | 0 |
Discover Home Loans | 3 | 44 | 0 |
U.S. Bancorp | 3 | 81 | 0 |
Wells Fargo & Co. | 3 | 88 | 1 |
Framing classifies the wording around each mention as positive, neutral or negative. Most mentions in these answers were neutral, and neutral wording does not itself establish why a company was or was not recommended.
Framing is not customer sentiment or a judgment of company quality. It records how the selected answers phrased their references, and the causes of those wordings remain outside what this evidence can show.

Only months with verified results are shown. Monthly sample coverage is listed in Methodology.
Only one reporting month has verified results, so no month-to-month change can be assessed. The counts and rates describe separate AI answer samples rather than a trend, and smaller answer totals do not by themselves explain any company's figures.
Counts, rates and coverage should be read together: a count shows how many answers recorded a result, while a rate places it against the answer base.

What the November Rankings Show
These rankings answer several distinct questions. Mention measures whether a company appeared at all; recommendation measures whether an answer affirmatively endorsed it; placement measures where an endorsed company sat in the ordering; and framing measures the wording around it. A company can be prominent on one measure and modest on another.
The two leaders stand apart on recommendation counts, while several frequently mentioned companies were rarely endorsed. Placement and framing add texture within those recommendation bases rather than changing the ranking. All of this describes the reviewed AI answers, not customers, sales or verified company facts.
Methodology
Questions This Section Answers
- How were the November 2026 Best Banks AI visibility measures counted, and what do they not establish?
This benchmark has partial coverage: 2 of 3 planned question categories contributed usable observations; 1 contributed none. This describes question-category coverage, not demonstrated platform outages. Findings apply to the available answer set.
The month in the title is the reporting period. The exact dates when the original AI answers were collected have not been verified.
Each company is counted at most once in each answer that meets the benchmark rules. A recommendation requires both an affirmative endorsement and positive wording. Mention, recommendation, Top 3 and first-place rates use the full benchmark answer total. Top 3 and first-place results are included within recommendations, not added to them.
The recommendation-to-mention ratio divides recommendations by mentions. It describes AI answer wording, not customer conversion. Net framing is positive minus negative mentions, divided by all mentions, on a scale from -1 to +1. It does not measure customer satisfaction or company quality.
Market: US; 8 tracked companies. AI services represented: ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity.
Research screening totals (answer observations can include repeated questions):
Screening measure | Count |
|---|---|
Answers included in the benchmark | 272 |
Answers marked relevant during screening | 323 |
Answers marked reserved (screening label) | 51 |
Answers marked irrelevant during screening | 117 |
Captured answer observations | 800 |
Distinct questions | 636 |
Answer observations marked as mentioning a brand | 800 |
The source does not provide a reader-facing definition of “reserved”; that screening label is reported without inferring a reason for exclusion. Only the included benchmark answers form the rate denominator.
One answer can mention or recommend several companies. Adding company totals would therefore count some answers more than once. The results describe the AI answers reviewed, not independently verified facts about the companies or their products.
Monthly sample coverage:
Reporting month | Answers included | AI services covered | Services |

Nov 2026 | 272 | 6 | ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity |
July 2026 measured a different set of companies, so it is excluded from this comparison. August 2026 measured a different set of companies, so it is excluded from this comparison. September 2026 measured a different set of companies, so it is excluded from this comparison. October 2026 measured a different set of companies, so it is excluded from this comparison.
The answer samples differ between months. These comparisons show how the recorded results changed; they do not establish why they changed.
Coverage is partial: only some planned question categories contributed usable answers, and findings apply to that available set. The reporting month is a label, and exact collection dates were not verified.
Each company is counted at most once per answer, and a recommendation requires both affirmative endorsement and positive wording. Rates use the full benchmark answer total, and placement results are nested within recommendations rather than added to them.
One answer can mention or recommend several companies, so company totals overlap. The results describe the AI answers reviewed, not independently verified facts about the companies or their products.
