Answer capsule
The November 2026 Consumer Banks benchmark compares 10 companies across 358 AI answers that met its inclusion rules. Regions Bank leads with 18 recommendations (5.03% of answers). At least one tracked company was recommended in 38 answers; some answers recommended several companies.
The rankings distinguish being mentioned from receiving an affirmative recommendation, then examine placement and the wording used about each company. Earlier monthly results show how counts and rates changed, with each month using its own answer total. These results describe the answers reviewed, not product quality or customer satisfaction. Differences between monthly samples limit comparisons and do not establish why a result changed.

The leaderboard orders companies by how many recorded answers affirmatively recommended them. That count is not the same as reach: a company can appear in many answers without being endorsed, and a company with fewer appearances can still collect more endorsements. Ties reflect equal recommendation counts, so shared ranks should be read as equal endorsement totals rather than a hidden ordering.
Mentions, recommendations, shortlist placements and first-place placements answer different questions. Placements are nested inside recommendations, so they refine where an endorsed company appeared rather than adding separate wins. Rates use the full benchmark answer total, which lets companies with different mention volumes be compared on a common base.

Tracked-company answer coverage
Questions This Section Answers
- How often did the November 2026 Consumer Banks answer sample recommend any tracked company?
Answer-level result | Qualified answers | Share of qualified answers |
|---|---|---|
At least one tracked company mentioned | 358 | 100.00% |
At least one tracked company recommended | 38 | 10.61% |
No tracked company recommended | 320 | 89.39% |
Multiple tracked companies recommended | 11 | 3.07% |
38 distinct answers recommended at least one tracked company. Counting each company recommendation separately gives 49, because an answer can recommend several companies. Answers with no tracked recommendation may still have recommended companies outside this comparison.
Every included answer mentioned at least one tracked company, so mention coverage is complete by construction and says nothing about relative prominence. Affirmative recommendation is far rarer: most answers named a tracked company without endorsing one, and only a small minority recommended more than one.
Because a single answer can recommend several companies, company-level recommendation totals exceed the number of answers containing a recommendation. Coverage therefore describes how often the tracked set surfaced at all, not market dominance. Answers without a tracked recommendation may still have named companies outside this comparison.
Reach and affirmative recommendation
Regions Bank ranks 1 by recommendation count. Mentions: 128 (35.75%); recommendations: 18 (5.03%). Top 3 placements: 8 (2.23%); first-place placements: 8 (2.23%).
Wording about the company: 23 positive, 104 neutral, 1 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 14.1%. The net framing score was 0.17 (defined in Methodology).
110 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 44.44% were Top 3 and 44.44% were first-place.
Regions Bank illustrates why mention and recommendation must be read separately. It appears in roughly a third of answers, yet only a modest fraction of those appearances also carry an affirmative endorsement. Most of its mentions were recorded without a recommendation, so its reach is much broader than its endorsement footprint.
Its placements sit entirely within its recommendations, with every recorded placement also first-place. That pattern describes where endorsements landed, not additional support. The gap between appearance and endorsement is the central feature of this profile.
Recommendation order and placement
Company | Mentions | Recommendation-to-mention ratio | Top 3 / #1 counts | Positive / neutral / negative mentions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Regions Bank | 128 | 14.1% | 8 / 8 | 23 / 104 / 1 |
Flagstar Bank | 48 | 16.7% | 5 / 2 | 13 / 31 / 4 |
Santander Bank | 101 | 5.9% | 5 / 5 | 18 / 82 / 1 |
Old National Bank | 42 | 11.9% | 2 / 2 | 7 / 35 / 0 |
First Horizon Bank | 65 | 6.2% | 3 / 2 | 11 / 54 / 0 |
City National Bank | 58 | 5.2% | 2 / 1 | 8 / 48 / 2 |
East West Bank | 17 | 11.8% | 1 / 1 | 2 / 15 / 0 |
Pinnacle Financial Partners | 28 | 7.1% | 0 / 0 | 5 / 23 / 0 |
Webster Bank | 54 | 1.9% | 0 / 0 | 12 / 42 / 0 |
Zions Bank | 5 | 0.0% | 0 / 0 | 0 / 5 / 0 |
Placement describes where within a recommendation a company was positioned, so shortlist and first-place counts are subsets of the recommendation total rather than separate achievements. A company can be recommended often while rarely placed near the top, and another can receive a small number of endorsements yet see several of them placed prominently.
Recommendation-to-mention ratios vary widely across the table. Where the mention base is small, a strong ratio rests on few observations and should be read cautiously. These ratios describe recorded answer wording, not customer behavior, sales or conversion.
Classified framing in context
Company | Positive | Neutral | Negative |
|---|---|---|---|
Regions Bank | 23 | 104 | 1 |
Flagstar Bank | 13 | 31 | 4 |
Santander Bank | 18 | 82 | 1 |
Old National Bank | 7 | 35 | 0 |
First Horizon Bank | 11 | 54 | 0 |
City National Bank | 8 | 48 | 2 |
East West Bank | 2 | 15 | 0 |
Pinnacle Financial Partners | 5 | 23 | 0 |
Webster Bank | 12 | 42 | 0 |
Zions Bank | 0 | 5 | 0 |
Framing captures the wording attached to each mention, classified as positive, neutral or negative. Neutral wording dominates nearly every profile, which means most appearances describe a company without clear evaluative language. Positive wording is less common, and negative wording is rare but present for a few companies.
Net framing summarizes that balance on a bounded scale. It is not a reputation score, customer sentiment measure or indicator of company quality, and it does not explain why recommendations occurred or failed to occur.

Only months with verified results are shown. Monthly sample coverage is listed in Methodology.
The monthly snapshots are separate samples of AI answers, each with its own answer total and service coverage. Counts and rates should be read together: a count can hold steady while its rate moves because the denominator changed, and a rate can shift while the underlying count barely moves.
Rank positions across months come from these separate samples and do not establish rank stability or equivalent sampling. The comparisons show how recorded results changed, not why.

What the November Rankings Show
The November results show that reach, endorsement, placement and framing answer different questions. A company can be named often without being recommended, recommended rarely but placed prominently, or recommended without any top placement. Reading any single measure alone would misstate a company's position in these answers.
Recommendation counts order the leaderboard, but they do not capture how often a company appeared or how its mentions were worded. Placement refines where endorsements landed, and framing describes the language around mentions rather than their outcome. Together these measures describe the recorded answers, not customers, sales or company quality.
Methodology
Questions This Section Answers
- How were the November 2026 Consumer Banks AI visibility measures counted, and what do they not establish?
This benchmark has partial coverage: 3 of 3 planned question categories contributed usable observations; 0 contributed none. This describes question-category coverage, not demonstrated platform outages. Findings apply to the available answer set.
The month in the title is the reporting period. The exact dates when the original AI answers were collected have not been verified.
Each company is counted at most once in each answer that meets the benchmark rules. A recommendation requires both an affirmative endorsement and positive wording. Mention, recommendation, Top 3 and first-place rates use the full benchmark answer total. Top 3 and first-place results are included within recommendations, not added to them.
The recommendation-to-mention ratio divides recommendations by mentions. It describes AI answer wording, not customer conversion. Net framing is positive minus negative mentions, divided by all mentions, on a scale from -1 to +1. It does not measure customer satisfaction or company quality.
Market: US; 10 tracked companies. AI services represented: ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity.
Research screening totals (answer observations can include repeated questions):
Screening measure | Count |
|---|---|
Answers included in the benchmark | 358 |
Answers marked relevant during screening | 492 |
Answers marked reserved (screening label) | 134 |
Answers marked irrelevant during screening | 188 |
Captured answer observations | 800 |
Distinct questions | 529 |
Answer observations marked as mentioning a brand | 800 |
The source does not provide a reader-facing definition of “reserved”; that screening label is reported without inferring a reason for exclusion. Only the included benchmark answers form the rate denominator.
One answer can mention or recommend several companies. Adding company totals would therefore count some answers more than once. The results describe the AI answers reviewed, not independently verified facts about the companies or their products.
Monthly sample coverage:
Reporting month | Answers included | AI services covered | Services |
|---|---|---|---|
Aug 2026 | 328 | 6 | ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity |
Sep 2026 | 277 | 5 | ChatGPT, Copilot, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity |
Oct 2026 | 254 | 6 | ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity |
Nov 2026 | 358 | 6 | ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity |
Reliable results for July 2026 are unavailable. This is a gap in the history, not a result of zero.
The answer samples differ between months. These comparisons show how the recorded results changed; they do not establish why they changed.
Findings apply to the included answer set, which has partial question-category coverage; this describes coverage, not demonstrated platform outages. The reporting month is the period label, and exact collection dates were not verified. Each company is counted at most once per qualifying answer, and a recommendation requires both affirmative endorsement and positive wording.
Rates use the full benchmark answer total, and placements are nested within recommendations. The recommendation-to-mention ratio and net framing describe answer wording, not customer conversion, satisfaction or company quality. Monthly samples differ in size and service coverage, so comparisons show recorded change without establishing cause. Reliable results for the missing month are unavailable, a gap rather than a zero.
