Answer capsule

The November 2026 Identity Theft Protection benchmark compares 10 companies across 400 AI answers that met its inclusion rules. Aura leads with 353 recommendations (88.25% of answers). At least one tracked company was recommended in 357 answers; some answers recommended several companies.

The rankings distinguish being mentioned from receiving an affirmative recommendation, then examine placement and the wording used about each company. Earlier monthly results show how counts and rates changed, with each month using its own answer total. These results describe the answers reviewed, not product quality or customer satisfaction. Differences between monthly samples limit comparisons and do not establish why a result changed.

The leaderboard orders companies by how many recorded answers recommended them, so it measures affirmative endorsement rather than mere appearance. A company can be mentioned often yet recommended less often, and those two readings answer different questions.

Ties matter because equal recommendation counts share a rank; the printed table shows no tie at the top. Placement figures are nested inside recommendations, so first-place and shortlist counts are subsets, not additional wins.

357 distinct answers recommended at least one tracked company. Counting each company recommendation separately gives 1327, because an answer can recommend several companies. Answers with no tracked recommendation may still have recommended companies outside this comparison.

Almost every qualified answer named at least one tracked company, and most named several, which is why company totals exceed the number of answers. This overlap means coverage describes presence across answers, not market share or dominance.

A minority of answers recommended no tracked company; those answers may still have endorsed companies outside this comparison. Coverage therefore bounds what the benchmark observed, not the full range of advice an answer might contain.

Reach and affirmative recommendation

Aura ranks 1 by recommendation count. Mentions: 400 (100.00%); recommendations: 353 (88.25%). Top 3 placements: 346 (86.50%); first-place placements: 242 (60.50%).

Wording about the company: 353 positive, 47 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 88.3%. The net framing score was 0.88 (defined in Methodology).

47 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 98.02% were Top 3 and 68.56% were first-place.

Aura appears in every qualified answer and is recommended in most of them, so its reach and its endorsement are both broad but not identical. The gap between mention and recommendation is the clearest signal that presence alone is not endorsement.

Mentions without a recorded recommendation are measured results, not missing data. The ranking reflects recommendation counts, so a company with wide mention but fewer endorsements sits below one with narrower but more affirmative coverage.

Placement describes where a recommended company appears in an answer's ordering. Shortlist and first-place counts are subsets of recommendations, so they should be read within the recommendation base rather than added to it.

A high recommendation-to-mention ratio means most appearances carried an endorsement; it does not describe customers, sales or conversion. Where the recommendation base is small, a strong ratio rests on few observations and should be read cautiously.

Framing classifies the wording used about a company in the selected answers. Positive and neutral labels describe how the answer phrased its reference; they are not customer sentiment, reputation or evidence of company quality.

No negative wording was recorded for any tracked company this month, which limits what the framing measure can distinguish. Neutral wording does not establish why a recommendation was or was not recorded.

Company results in detail

Aura

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Aura mentions, recommendations and placement?

Aura ranks 1 by recommendation count. Mentions: 400 (100.00%); recommendations: 353 (88.25%). Top 3 placements: 346 (86.50%); first-place placements: 242 (60.50%).

Wording about the company: 353 positive, 47 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 88.3%. The net framing score was 0.88 (defined in Methodology).

47 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 98.02% were Top 3 and 68.56% were first-place.

Aura leads on recommendation count and appears in every qualified answer, giving it the broadest reach in the set. Its endorsements are also unusually concentrated near the top of answer orderings, with most recommendations placed first.

Its wording is overwhelmingly positive with no negative mentions recorded. The month-over-month rise in both mentions and recommendations is a recorded comparison only; the samples differ and do not establish why the change occurred.

LifeLock

Questions This Section Answers

LifeLock ranks 2 by recommendation count. Mentions: 384 (96.00%); recommendations: 333 (83.25%). Top 3 placements: 326 (81.50%); first-place placements: 92 (23.00%).

Wording about the company: 333 positive, 51 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 86.7%. The net framing score was 0.87 (defined in Methodology).

51 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 97.90% were Top 3 and 27.63% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, LifeLock's mention count rose from 367 to 384, while its recommendation count rose from 292 to 333. The recommendation rate was 77.04% and 83.25% respectively.

LifeLock holds second place on recommendation count with near-universal mention coverage. Its endorsements are frequent, but its first-place placements are far fewer than its shortlist placements, so it often appears high without leading.

Wording is positive or neutral with nothing negative recorded. The October-to-November increase in mentions and recommendations is a comparison of separate samples and does not show a cause or a durable trend.

Identity Guard

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Identity Guard mentions, recommendations and placement?

Identity Guard ranks 3 by recommendation count. Mentions: 230 (57.50%); recommendations: 201 (50.25%). Top 3 placements: 100 (25.00%); first-place placements: 0 (0.00%).

Wording about the company: 201 positive, 29 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 87.4%. The net framing score was 0.87 (defined in Methodology).

29 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 49.75% were Top 3 and 0.00% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, Identity Guard's mention count rose from 191 to 230, while its recommendation count rose from 171 to 201. The recommendation rate was 45.12% and 50.25% respectively.

Its recommendation-to-mention ratio is high, meaning most appearances carried an endorsement. Wording is positive or neutral throughout. The month-over-month movement is a recorded comparison across differing samples, not evidence of a mechanism.

IdentityForce

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about IdentityForce mentions, recommendations and placement?

IdentityForce ranks 4 by recommendation count. Mentions: 221 (55.25%); recommendations: 182 (45.50%). Top 3 placements: 135 (33.75%); first-place placements: 1 (0.25%).

Wording about the company: 182 positive, 39 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 82.4%. The net framing score was 0.82 (defined in Methodology).

From October 2026 to November 2026, IdentityForce's mention count rose from 202 to 221, while its recommendation count rose from 180 to 182. The recommendation rate was 47.49% and 45.50% respectively.

IdentityForce ranks fourth, having been recommended in under half of qualified answers. Its shortlist placements are relatively numerous, but first-place appearances are essentially absent, so it is endorsed without leading.

Its recommendation-to-mention ratio is the lowest among the higher-volume companies, indicating that a larger share of its appearances lacked an endorsement. Wording remains positive or neutral, and the small month-over-month change is descriptive only.

IDX

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about IDX mentions, recommendations and placement?

IDX ranks 10 by recommendation count. Mentions: 2 (0.50%); recommendations: 2 (0.50%). Top 3 placements: 0 (0.00%); first-place placements: 0 (0.00%).

From October 2026 to November 2026, IDX's mention count fell from 4 to 2, while its recommendation count stayed at 2. The recommendation rate was 0.53% and 0.50% respectively. The count was unchanged: the rate difference comes from dividing it by 379 answers in October 2026 and 400 in November.

IDX ranks tenth, with only a handful of mentions and recommendations recorded. No shortlist or first-place placements were recorded, so its appearances were not prominent in answer orderings.

Its recommendation-to-mention ratio is at its maximum, but on such a small base this is a fragile reading rather than a strong signal. Its mention count fell while its recommendation count was unchanged; the rate difference reflects a different answer total, not a demonstrated change in standing.

Only months with verified results are shown. Monthly sample coverage is listed in Methodology.

The monthly table shows separate selected samples, each with its own answer total, so counts and rates should be read together rather than compared as equivalent panels. Rank positions are recorded per month and do not establish stability.

A changed count or rate across months is a recorded comparison only. Smaller answer totals do not explain why a company's results moved, and a single prior month cannot establish a first-ever result or a durable trend.

What the November Rankings Show

These measures answer different questions. Mention records appearance, recommendation records affirmative endorsement, placement records position within an endorsement, and framing records wording. A company can be widely mentioned yet rarely recommended, or frequently recommended yet rarely placed first.

Because placements nest inside recommendations, the figures should not be summed. Recommendation-to-mention ratios describe the recorded answers, not customers or conversion, and framing is not sentiment or quality. The rankings summarize what these AI answers said, not independently verified facts about the companies.

Methodology

Questions This Section Answers

  • How were the November 2026 Identity Theft Protection AI visibility measures counted, and what do they not establish?

This benchmark has partial coverage: 3 of 3 planned question categories contributed usable observations; 0 contributed none. This describes question-category coverage, not demonstrated platform outages. Findings apply to the available answer set.

The month in the title is the reporting period. The exact dates when the original AI answers were collected have not been verified.

Each company is counted at most once in each answer that meets the benchmark rules. A recommendation requires both an affirmative endorsement and positive wording. Mention, recommendation, Top 3 and first-place rates use the full benchmark answer total. Top 3 and first-place results are included within recommendations, not added to them.

The recommendation-to-mention ratio divides recommendations by mentions. It describes AI answer wording, not customer conversion. Net framing is positive minus negative mentions, divided by all mentions, on a scale from -1 to +1. It does not measure customer satisfaction or company quality.

Market: US; 10 tracked companies. AI services represented: ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity.

The source does not provide a reader-facing definition of “reserved”; that screening label is reported without inferring a reason for exclusion. Only the included benchmark answers form the rate denominator.

One answer can mention or recommend several companies. Adding company totals would therefore count some answers more than once. The results describe the AI answers reviewed, not independently verified facts about the companies or their products.

The answer samples differ between months. These comparisons show how the recorded results changed; they do not establish why they changed.

The benchmark covers a partial set of answers, and the exact collection dates for the original AI answers have not been verified. Each company is counted at most once per answer, and one answer can mention or recommend several companies, so company totals overlap.
