Answer capsule

The November 2026 Fresh Dog Food and Pet Meal Delivery benchmark compares 8 companies across 501 AI answers that met its inclusion rules. The Farmer’s Dog leads with 416 recommendations (83.03% of answers). At least one tracked company was recommended in 468 answers; some answers recommended several companies.

The rankings distinguish being mentioned from receiving an affirmative recommendation, then examine placement and the wording used about each company. Earlier monthly results show how counts and rates changed, with each month using its own answer total. These results describe the answers reviewed, not product quality or customer satisfaction. Differences between monthly samples limit comparisons and do not establish why a result changed.

The leaderboard orders companies by how many recorded answers affirmatively recommended them. That count is not the same as appearing in an answer, and it is not the same as being placed near the top of a list. A company can be mentioned often yet recommended less often, or recommended often yet rarely placed first.

Ties are decided by equal recommendation counts, so a shared position does not imply a unique winner. Placement figures are nested inside recommendations rather than added to them. Reading the columns separately keeps reach, endorsement and ordering from being collapsed into one impression of prominence.

468 distinct answers recommended at least one tracked company. Counting each company recommendation separately gives 1518, because an answer can recommend several companies. Answers with no tracked recommendation may still have recommended companies outside this comparison.

Almost every included answer named at least one tracked company, and most recommended one. Multiple tracked companies frequently appeared together in the same answer, which is why company-level totals exceed the number of answers. This overlap is a property of how the answers were written, not evidence that any single company dominates the market.

A small set of answers recommended no tracked company at all. Those answers may still have named companies outside this comparison, so the coverage figures describe the tracked set only.

Reach and affirmative recommendation

The Farmer’s Dog ranks 1 by recommendation count. Mentions: 462 (92.22%); recommendations: 416 (83.03%). Top 3 placements: 382 (76.25%); first-place placements: 273 (54.49%).

Wording about the company: 419 positive, 41 neutral, 2 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 90.0%. The net framing score was 0.90 (defined in Methodology).

46 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 91.83% were Top 3 and 65.63% were first-place.

Mention and recommendation answer different questions. A mention records that a company appeared in the answer; a recommendation requires an affirmative endorsement alongside positive wording. The Farmer’s Dog was mentioned in nearly all answers and recommended in most of them, but a portion of its mentions carried no recorded recommendation.

Among its recorded recommendations, most were placed in the top three and a majority were placed first. Those placement shares are subsets of the recommendation count, not additional wins.

Placement describes where a recommended company sat within an answer’s ordering. Top-three and first-place counts are drawn from the recommendation set, so they cannot exceed it and should not be summed with mentions or recommendations. Recommendation-to-mention ratios vary across companies, showing that appearing and being endorsed are distinct outcomes.

Where a ratio rests on a small base, it should be read cautiously. A high ratio on few mentions is a thin signal, not a stronger result than a lower ratio on many.

Framing classifies the wording used about a company in the selected answers. Positive wording dominates for every tracked company, with neutral wording forming the remainder and negative wording rare. This describes how the answers phrased their references, not how customers feel or how good a company’s products are.

Neutral or positive wording does not explain why a recommendation was or was not recorded. Framing and recommendation are separate measurements that happen to be reported side by side.

Only months with verified results are shown. Monthly sample coverage is listed in Methodology.

The monthly snapshots come from separate answer samples, so counts and rates are comparable in form but not drawn from an identical set of answers. A company’s rank can hold while its underlying counts and rates move, and a changed rate does not by itself demonstrate improvement or loss of standing.

September has no verified results, which is a gap in the record rather than a zero. The comparisons show how recorded results changed across months; they do not establish why.

What the November Rankings Show

The November results answer several different questions at once. Reach asks how often a company appeared; recommendation asks how often an answer affirmatively endorsed it; placement asks where an endorsed company sat in the ordering; framing asks how the wording was classified. These measures overlap but are not interchangeable, and each can move independently of the others.

A company with broad reach may still leave some mentions unendorsed, and a company endorsed often may rarely be placed first. Ratios and shares describe the recorded answers, not customers, sales or conversion, and framing is not a measure of company quality. Reading the columns together gives a fuller picture than any single rank, while the limits of separate monthly samples and partial coverage still apply.

Methodology

Questions This Section Answers

  • How were the November 2026 Fresh Dog Food and Pet Meal Delivery AI visibility measures counted, and what do they not establish?

This benchmark has partial coverage: 3 of 3 planned question categories contributed usable observations; 0 contributed none. This describes question-category coverage, not demonstrated platform outages. Findings apply to the available answer set.

The month in the title is the reporting period. The exact dates when the original AI answers were collected have not been verified.

Each company is counted at most once in each answer that meets the benchmark rules. A recommendation requires both an affirmative endorsement and positive wording. Mention, recommendation, Top 3 and first-place rates use the full benchmark answer total. Top 3 and first-place results are included within recommendations, not added to them.

The recommendation-to-mention ratio divides recommendations by mentions. It describes AI answer wording, not customer conversion. Net framing is positive minus negative mentions, divided by all mentions, on a scale from -1 to +1. It does not measure customer satisfaction or company quality.

Market: US; 8 tracked companies. AI services represented: ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity.

Research screening totals (answer observations can include repeated questions):

The source does not provide a reader-facing definition of “reserved”; that screening label is reported without inferring a reason for exclusion. Only the included benchmark answers form the rate denominator.

One answer can mention or recommend several companies. Adding company totals would therefore count some answers more than once. The results describe the AI answers reviewed, not independently verified facts about the companies or their products.

Reliable results for September 2026 are unavailable. This is a gap in the history, not a result of zero.

The answer samples differ between months. These comparisons show how the recorded results changed; they do not establish why they changed.

The benchmark covers a partial set of answers, and the exact collection dates for the original AI answers have not been verified. Each company is counted at most once per answer, and a recommendation requires both affirmative endorsement and positive wording. Top-three and first-place results are contained within recommendations rather than added to them.

Rates use the full benchmark answer total, while the recommendation-to-mention ratio describes answer wording rather than customer behavior. Net framing runs from negative to positive and does not measure satisfaction or quality. Monthly samples differ, so comparisons show recorded change without establishing cause.
