Answer capsule

The November 2026 Final Expense Insurance benchmark compares 9 companies across 340 AI answers that met its inclusion rules. Ethos leads with 125 recommendations (36.76% of answers). At least one tracked company was recommended in 237 answers; some answers recommended several companies.

The rankings distinguish being mentioned from receiving an affirmative recommendation, then examine placement and the wording used about each company. Earlier monthly results show how counts and rates changed, with each month using its own answer total. These results describe the answers reviewed, not product quality or customer satisfaction. Differences between monthly samples limit comparisons and do not establish why a result changed.

The leaderboard orders companies by how many answers affirmatively recommended them, so it measures recorded endorsement rather than general visibility. A company can appear often without being recommended, and a recommendation can sit anywhere in an answer's ordering.

Ties are equal recommendation counts, not shared credit for a unique winner. Mentions, recommendations, shortlist placements and first-place placements answer different questions, and the placement figures are nested within recommendations rather than additional wins.

237 distinct answers recommended at least one tracked company. Counting each company recommendation separately gives 529, because an answer can recommend several companies. Answers with no tracked recommendation may still have recommended companies outside this comparison.

Every included answer mentioned at least one tracked company, but a substantial minority recommended none of them. Because one answer can recommend several companies, company-level recommendation counts exceed the number of answers carrying any recommendation.

This overlap means coverage describes how often tracked names appear across answers, not market share or dominance. Answers without a tracked recommendation may still have named companies outside this comparison.

Reach and affirmative recommendation

Ethos ranks 1 by recommendation count. Mentions: 231 (67.94%); recommendations: 125 (36.76%). Top 3 placements: 68 (20.00%); first-place placements: 27 (7.94%).

Wording about the company: 125 positive, 106 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 54.1%. The net framing score was 0.54 (defined in Methodology).

106 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 54.40% were Top 3 and 21.60% were first-place.

Ethos leads on recommendation count, but its mentions outnumber its recommendations, so presence and endorsement diverge. The gap between the two shows that being named in an answer is not the same as being affirmatively put forward.

A tie would mean equal recommendation counts, not a shared first place. Reach describes appearance; recommendation describes endorsement. Neither establishes why an answer named or endorsed a company.

Placement records where a recommended company sat in an answer's ordering. Shortlist placements are a subset of recommendations, and first-place placements are a subset of shortlist placements, so these figures should not be added together or read as separate wins.

A high first-place share among a small recommendation base is a proportion of few recorded endorsements, not evidence of broader prominence. Placement describes position, not customer conversion.

Framing classifies the wording used about a company in the selected answers. Positive, neutral and negative labels describe how mentions were phrased, not customer sentiment, reputation or company quality.

Neutral wording is common for several companies, and positive wording does not establish why a recommendation occurred or was withheld. The net framing score summarizes wording balance only and should be read alongside, not instead of, recommendation counts.

Company results in detail

Ethos

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Ethos mentions, recommendations and placement?

Ethos ranks 1 by recommendation count. Mentions: 231 (67.94%); recommendations: 125 (36.76%). Top 3 placements: 68 (20.00%); first-place placements: 27 (7.94%).

Wording about the company: 125 positive, 106 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 54.1%. The net framing score was 0.54 (defined in Methodology).

106 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 54.40% were Top 3 and 21.60% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, Ethos' mention count fell from 248 to 231, while its recommendation count rose from 124 to 125. The recommendation rate was 32.38% and 36.76% respectively.

Ethos holds the top recommendation count, with mentions well ahead of recommendations, so many appearances carried no endorsement. Its wording was positive or neutral, with no negative mentions recorded.

Its recommendation-to-mention ratio sits near the middle of the field, and first-place placements form a modest share of its recommendations. The month-to-month comparison shows mentions down and recommendations up slightly; the changed sample does not explain either movement.

Gerber Life

Questions This Section Answers

Gerber Life ranks second on recommendations, and its recommendation-to-mention ratio is comparatively strong, meaning a larger share of its appearances carried endorsement. A small number of negative mentions was recorded alongside mostly positive wording.

First-place placements are rare relative to its recommendations, so its endorsements cluster lower in answer orderings. Its counts rose from the previous month, but the separate samples do not establish why.

Only months with verified results are shown. Monthly sample coverage is listed in Methodology.

Each month is a separate sample of AI answers, and the number of included answers differs across months. Counts and rates therefore should be read together rather than compared as if sampling were equivalent.

Rank changes across months describe recorded positions in different samples. They do not establish rank stability, improvement, loss of standing or any cause for the shifts.

What the November Rankings Show

The November results answer several distinct questions. Reach asks how often a company appeared; recommendation asks whether an answer affirmatively endorsed it; placement asks where an endorsement sat in the ordering; framing asks how the wording was classified. A company can be visible without being recommended, and recommended without being placed first.

Because one answer can name several companies, company totals overlap and should not be summed into a market total. The ratios describe recorded answer wording, not customers, sales or conversion, and framing is not customer sentiment. The comparisons across months rest on separate samples, so they show what was recorded, not why it changed.

Methodology

Questions This Section Answers

This benchmark has partial coverage: 3 of 3 planned question categories contributed usable observations; 0 contributed none. This describes question-category coverage, not demonstrated platform outages. Findings apply to the available answer set.

The month in the title is the reporting period. The exact dates when the original AI answers were collected have not been verified.

Each company is counted at most once in each answer that meets the benchmark rules. A recommendation requires both an affirmative endorsement and positive wording. Mention, recommendation, Top 3 and first-place rates use the full benchmark answer total. Top 3 and first-place results are included within recommendations, not added to them.

The recommendation-to-mention ratio divides recommendations by mentions. It describes AI answer wording, not customer conversion. Net framing is positive minus negative mentions, divided by all mentions, on a scale from -1 to +1. It does not measure customer satisfaction or company quality.

Market: US; 9 tracked companies. AI services represented: ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity.

The source does not provide a reader-facing definition of “reserved”; that screening label is reported without inferring a reason for exclusion. Only the included benchmark answers form the rate denominator.

One answer can mention or recommend several companies. Adding company totals would therefore count some answers more than once. The results describe the AI answers reviewed, not independently verified facts about the companies or their products.

The answer samples differ between months. These comparisons show how the recorded results changed; they do not establish why they changed.

The benchmark covers a partial set of planned question categories, and findings apply only to the answers included. The reporting month labels the period, but exact collection dates were not verified, and the source gives no reader-facing definition of the reserved screening label.

Each company is counted at most once per answer, and a recommendation requires both affirmative endorsement and positive wording. Rates use the full included answer total, and placement figures are nested within recommendations. Net framing measures wording balance, not satisfaction or quality. Monthly samples differ, so comparisons show recorded change without establishing cause.
