Answer capsule

The November 2026 Certificates of Deposits benchmark compares 10 companies across 128 AI answers that met its inclusion rules. American Express, Morgan Stanley share the lead with 11 recommendations each (8.59% of answers). At least one tracked company was recommended in 19 answers; some answers recommended several companies.

The rankings distinguish being mentioned from receiving an affirmative recommendation, then examine placement and the wording used about each company. Earlier monthly results show how counts and rates changed, with each month using its own answer total. These results describe the answers reviewed, not product quality or customer satisfaction. Differences between monthly samples limit comparisons and do not establish why a result changed.

The leaderboard orders companies by how many recorded answers affirmatively recommended them. American Express and Morgan Stanley share the top count, so the ranking shows a tie rather than a single winner. Ties reflect equal recommendation counts only.

Mentions, recommendations and placements answer different questions. A mention is appearance in an answer; a recommendation is affirmative endorsement; placements describe where a recommendation sat. A company can be mentioned often yet recommended rarely, so the columns should be read separately rather than combined.

19 distinct answers recommended at least one tracked company. Counting each company recommendation separately gives 61, because an answer can recommend several companies. Answers with no tracked recommendation may still have recommended companies outside this comparison.

Every included answer mentioned at least one tracked company, but only a minority recommended one. Because an answer can recommend several companies, company-level recommendation counts exceed the number of answers containing a recommendation. That overlap is why company totals should not be summed into an answer count.

Coverage here describes the reviewed answers, not overall market dominance. Answers without a tracked recommendation may still have named companies outside this comparison, so absence of a tracked recommendation is not evidence that no recommendation occurred.

Reach and affirmative recommendation

American Express ranks 1 by recommendation count. Mentions: 54 (42.19%); recommendations: 11 (8.59%). Top 3 placements: 3 (2.34%); first-place placements: 3 (2.34%).

Wording about the company: 17 positive, 37 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 20.4%. The net framing score was 0.31 (defined in Methodology).

43 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 27.27% were Top 3 and 27.27% were first-place.

Morgan Stanley ranks 1 by recommendation count. Mentions: 77 (60.16%); recommendations: 11 (8.59%). Top 3 placements: 3 (2.34%); first-place placements: 0 (0.00%).

Wording about the company: 12 positive, 65 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 14.3%. The net framing score was 0.16 (defined in Methodology).

66 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 27.27% were Top 3 and 0.00% were first-place.

American Express and Morgan Stanley tie on recommendation count, yet their profiles differ. Morgan Stanley appears in more answers, while American Express records a larger share of its mentions as affirmative endorsements. The tie is equal recommendation counts, not a shared pattern of appearance or wording.

Mention presence and affirmative endorsement are distinct measurements. Many mentions carried no recorded recommendation for either company, so frequent appearance should not be read as frequent endorsement. The recommendation-to-mention ratio describes recorded answer wording, not customer behavior or conversion.

Top-three and first-place results are nested within recommendations, not additional wins. A company with recommendations but no top-three placements simply had none of its endorsements positioned early; that is a placement reading, not a separate outcome.

Placement shares use the full answer total as denominator, so they are not directly comparable to the recommendation-to-mention ratio. First-place counts are a subset of shortlist placements and should never be added to them. Placement describes position in an answer, not consumer conversion.

Framing classifies the wording surrounding each mention as positive, neutral or negative. Most mentions of tracked companies were neutral, with positive wording a minority and negative wording rare. Neutral wording is not an endorsement, and positive wording alone does not establish why a recommendation was or was not recorded.

Net framing summarizes that balance on a bounded scale. It is not customer sentiment, reputation or company quality, and differences between companies should not be read as evidence of underlying merit or of causes behind recommendation patterns.

Only months with verified results are shown. Monthly sample coverage is listed in Methodology.

Only one reporting month with verified results is shown, so no month-to-month comparison is available. The table pairs each company's recommendation count with its rate over the included answers, and the rank column orders those counts.

A count records how many endorsements appeared, while a rate expresses that count against the full answer total; the two describe different aspects of the same recorded answers. Neither establishes rank stability across months, and monthly samples are separate rather than equivalent.

What the November Rankings Show

The November results show that reach, recommendation, placement and framing answer separate questions. A company can appear in many answers without being endorsed often, and an endorsement can sit anywhere in an answer's ordering. Reading these measures together gives a fuller picture than any single column.

The leaderboard's top is a tie, and several companies share lower counts, so rank alone compresses real differences in how often companies were mentioned and how their endorsements were positioned. Framing adds wording context but does not explain why recommendations occurred.

Methodology

Questions This Section Answers

  • How were the November 2026 Certificates of Deposits AI visibility measures counted, and what do they not establish?

This benchmark has partial coverage: 1 of 3 planned question categories contributed usable observations; 2 contributed none. This describes question-category coverage, not demonstrated platform outages. Findings apply to the available answer set.

The month in the title is the reporting period. The exact dates when the original AI answers were collected have not been verified.

Each company is counted at most once in each answer that meets the benchmark rules. A recommendation requires both an affirmative endorsement and positive wording. Mention, recommendation, Top 3 and first-place rates use the full benchmark answer total. Top 3 and first-place results are included within recommendations, not added to them.

The recommendation-to-mention ratio divides recommendations by mentions. It describes AI answer wording, not customer conversion. Net framing is positive minus negative mentions, divided by all mentions, on a scale from -1 to +1. It does not measure customer satisfaction or company quality.

Market: US; 10 tracked companies. AI services represented: ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity.

The source does not provide a reader-facing definition of “reserved”; that screening label is reported without inferring a reason for exclusion. Only the included benchmark answers form the rate denominator.

One answer can mention or recommend several companies. Adding company totals would therefore count some answers more than once. The results describe the AI answers reviewed, not independently verified facts about the companies or their products.

July 2026 measured a different set of companies, so it is excluded from this comparison. August 2026 measured a different set of companies, so it is excluded from this comparison. September 2026 measured a different set of companies, so it is excluded from this comparison. October 2026 measured a different set of companies, so it is excluded from this comparison.

The answer samples differ between months. These comparisons show how the recorded results changed; they do not establish why they changed.

Coverage is partial: only one of three planned question categories contributed usable observations, and the exact collection dates for the original answers are unverified. Findings apply to the included answer set, not to all AI output.

Each company is counted at most once per qualifying answer, and one answer can mention or recommend several companies, so company totals overlap. Top-three and first-place results are subsets of recommendations, not additions. The recommendation-to-mention ratio and net framing describe recorded answer wording, not customers, sales, conversion or company quality. The results are not independently verified facts about the companies.
