Answer capsule

The November 2026 Credit Cards benchmark compares 10 companies across 281 AI answers that met its inclusion rules. American Express leads with 88 recommendations (31.32% of answers). At least one tracked company was recommended in 107 answers; some answers recommended several companies.

The rankings distinguish being mentioned from receiving an affirmative recommendation, then examine placement and the wording used about each company. Earlier monthly results show how counts and rates changed, with each month using its own answer total. These results describe the answers reviewed, not product quality or customer satisfaction. Differences between monthly samples limit comparisons and do not establish why a result changed.

The leaderboard orders companies by how many answers affirmatively recommended them, not by how often they appeared. A company can be mentioned frequently yet recommended rarely, so the recommendation count and the mention rate answer different questions. Ties in recommendation counts share a rank; the printed table shows where that occurs rather than implying a unique winner.

Placement figures are nested inside recommendations. Top-three and first-place counts describe where a recommended company sat in an answer's ordering, so they should be read as subsets rather than as additional endorsements. Framing is a separate wording measure and does not establish why any recommendation was or was not recorded.

107 distinct answers recommended at least one tracked company. Counting each company recommendation separately gives 369, because an answer can recommend several companies. Answers with no tracked recommendation may still have recommended companies outside this comparison.

Coverage describes how the tracked companies appear across the reviewed answers. Every qualified answer mentioned at least one tracked company, but only a minority recommended one. Because a single answer can recommend several companies, company-level recommendation counts exceed the number of answers containing a recommendation.

The remaining answers either recommended no tracked company or named companies outside this comparison. Overlap is therefore expected and should not be read as overall market dominance. These figures describe the selected answer set, not the wider credit card market.

Reach and affirmative recommendation

American Express ranks 1 by recommendation count. Mentions: 243 (86.48%); recommendations: 88 (31.32%). Top 3 placements: 44 (15.66%); first-place placements: 33 (11.74%).

Wording about the company: 90 positive, 144 neutral, 9 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 36.2%. The net framing score was 0.33 (defined in Methodology).

155 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 50.00% were Top 3 and 37.50% were first-place.

Reach and recommendation are distinct. American Express appears in most reviewed answers, yet only a portion of those mentions also carried an affirmative recommendation. The gap between mention and recommendation is the central reading: being named is not the same as being endorsed.

The recommendation-to-mention ratio summarizes that gap for the recorded answers. It is a wording measure, not a customer conversion rate. A high mention rate with a lower recommendation rate simply describes how often the company was named versus affirmatively endorsed in this sample.

Placement describes where a recommended company appeared in an answer's ordering. Top-three and first-place counts are subsets of recommendations, not separate wins, and they should not be added to recommendation totals. A company recommended less often can still hold a relatively large share of top-three positions among its own recommendations.

Ratios involving placement require a nonzero recommendation base; where that base is small, the ratio is volatile and should be read with caution. Placement reflects answer ordering, not consumer preference or conversion.

Framing classifies the wording used around each company in the reviewed answers. Positive, neutral and negative labels describe how the company was discussed, not customer sentiment, reputation or company quality. Neutral wording dominates for most companies, which limits how much the positive and negative counts alone can say.

The net framing score combines positive and negative mentions on a bounded scale. It does not explain why recommendations occurred or did not occur, and it should not be treated as a predictor of recommendation counts.

Its recommendation-to-mention ratio sits below the leader's, meaning a larger share of its mentions carried no endorsement.

Placement is more modest: first-place positions are a small fraction of its recommendations. Framing is predominantly neutral with a modest positive group. No prior-period comparison is available.

Chase Credit Journey

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Chase Credit Journey mentions, recommendations and placement?

Chase Credit Journey ranks 3 by recommendation count. Mentions: 227 (80.78%); recommendations: 71 (25.27%). Top 3 placements: 38 (13.52%); first-place placements: 18 (6.41%).

Its recommendation-to-mention ratio is close to Citi's, and among its recommendations a relatively large share were top-three placements, giving it a distinctive placement profile rather than merely a smaller version of the leaders.

Framing is mostly neutral, with positive mentions outnumbering negative ones. No prior-period comparison is available, so the profile describes a single reporting month.

Wells Fargo & Co.

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Wells Fargo & Co. mentions, recommendations and placement?

Wells Fargo & Co. ranks 4 by recommendation count. Mentions: 153 (54.45%); recommendations: 48 (17.08%). Top 3 placements: 20 (7.12%); first-place placements: 12 (4.27%).

Placement is moderate, with a meaningful share of its recommendations in top-three positions. Framing is largely neutral and negative mentions are few. No prior-period comparison is available.

Barclays

Questions This Section Answers

Among its recommendations, a reasonable share reached top-three positions, though first-place placements are limited. Framing is dominated by neutral wording with few negative mentions. No prior-period comparison is available.

Discover Home Loans

Questions This Section Answers

Framing is mostly neutral, with a small positive group and few negative mentions. The zero first-place count is a measured result, not a missing observation. No prior-period comparison is available.

Capital One Platinum Mastercard

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Capital One Platinum Mastercard mentions, recommendations and placement?

Capital One Platinum Mastercard ranks 8 by recommendation count. Mentions: 26 (9.25%); recommendations: 9 (3.20%). Top 3 placements: 7 (2.49%); first-place placements: 3 (1.07%).

There are insufficient usable monthly observations for a prior-period comparison.

Capital One Platinum Mastercard ranks eighth on recommendation count but appears in relatively few answers, so its reach is narrow. Its recommendation-to-mention ratio is comparatively high, and a large share of its recommendations were top-three placements, including several first-place positions.

That strong placement pattern rests on a small recommendation base and should be read with caution. Framing is mostly neutral with a small positive group. No prior-period comparison is available.

Only months with verified results are shown. Monthly sample coverage is listed in Methodology.

Only one reporting month has verified results, so no earlier ranking snapshot is available for comparison. The printed history shows the November figures alone; earlier months measured different company sets and are excluded.

Counts, rates and coverage should be read together: a count depends on how many answers were reviewed, while a rate expresses that count against the full benchmark answer total. Monthly samples are separate and not equivalent, so no rank stability should be inferred.

What the November Rankings Show

The November results show that reach, recommendation, placement and framing answer different questions. A company can appear widely yet be recommended in only a fraction of those appearances, and a company recommended less often can still occupy a large share of top-three positions among its own recommendations. Reading only one measure would misstate a company's profile.

Framing adds a further, separate layer: neutral wording dominates for most companies, and the net framing score does not explain recommendation patterns. Because only one month has verified results, these figures describe a single selected sample rather than a trend.

Methodology

Questions This Section Answers

  • How were the November 2026 Credit Cards AI visibility measures counted, and what do they not establish?

This benchmark has partial coverage: 3 of 3 planned question categories contributed usable observations; 0 contributed none. This describes question-category coverage, not demonstrated platform outages. Findings apply to the available answer set.

The month in the title is the reporting period. The exact dates when the original AI answers were collected have not been verified.

Each company is counted at most once in each answer that meets the benchmark rules. A recommendation requires both an affirmative endorsement and positive wording. Mention, recommendation, Top 3 and first-place rates use the full benchmark answer total. Top 3 and first-place results are included within recommendations, not added to them.

The recommendation-to-mention ratio divides recommendations by mentions. It describes AI answer wording, not customer conversion. Net framing is positive minus negative mentions, divided by all mentions, on a scale from -1 to +1. It does not measure customer satisfaction or company quality.

Market: US; 10 tracked companies. AI services represented: ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity.

The source does not provide a reader-facing definition of “reserved”; that screening label is reported without inferring a reason for exclusion. Only the included benchmark answers form the rate denominator.

One answer can mention or recommend several companies. Adding company totals would therefore count some answers more than once. The results describe the AI answers reviewed, not independently verified facts about the companies or their products.

July 2026 measured a different set of companies, so it is excluded from this comparison. August 2026 measured a different set of companies, so it is excluded from this comparison. The answer samples differ between months. These comparisons show how the recorded results changed; they do not establish why they changed.

This benchmark covers a partial set of question categories, and findings apply only to the available answer set. The reporting month is a label; exact collection dates were not verified. Each company is counted at most once per answer, and a recommendation requires both affirmative endorsement and positive wording.

Mention, recommendation, top-three and first-place rates use the full benchmark answer total, with placements nested inside recommendations. The recommendation-to-mention ratio and net framing score describe answer wording, not customers, sales or company quality. One answer can name several companies, so company totals overlap. Monthly samples differ and do not establish why results changed.
