Answer capsule
The November 2026 Cloud Storage benchmark compares 10 companies across 619 AI answers that met its inclusion rules. Google Drive leads with 313 recommendations (50.57% of answers). At least one tracked company was recommended in 398 answers; some answers recommended several companies.
The rankings distinguish being mentioned from receiving an affirmative recommendation, then examine placement and the wording used about each company. Earlier monthly results show how counts and rates changed, with each month using its own answer total. These results describe the answers reviewed, not product quality or customer satisfaction. Differences between monthly samples limit comparisons and do not establish why a result changed.

Questions This Section Answers
- How do Cloud Storage rank by recorded AI recommendations in November 2026?
Rank | Company | Recommendations | Recommendation rate | Mention rate | Top 3 rate | #1 rate | Net sentiment |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Google Drive | 313 | 50.57% | 97.42% | 37.80% | 20.68% | 0.58 |
2 | Microsoft OneDrive | 286 | 46.20% | 88.05% | 29.40% | 12.44% | 0.57 |
3 | pCloud | 245 | 39.58% | 72.05% | 12.92% | 3.39% | 0.64 |
4 | Sync.com | 204 | 32.96% | 68.98% | 7.59% | 2.91% | 0.52 |
5 | IDrive | 161 | 26.01% | 50.73% | 8.24% | 4.52% | 0.58 |
6 | iCloud | 148 | 23.91% | 68.82% | 10.18% | 1.29% | 0.38 |
7 | MEGA | 129 | 20.84% | 43.46% | 13.09% | 9.85% | 0.60 |
8 | Dropbox Business | 119 | 19.22% | 62.84% | 9.69% | 2.26% | 0.34 |
9 | Box | 76 | 12.28% | 35.54% | 3.72% | 1.13% | 0.39 |
10 | Backblaze | 73 | 11.79% | 31.66% | 4.52% | 1.94% | 0.43 |
The leaderboard orders companies by how many reviewed AI answers affirmatively recommended them. That count answers a narrower question than reach: a company can appear often yet be endorsed less often, so mention totals and recommendation totals should be read side by side rather than merged.
Ties matter here. Equal recommendation counts share a rank, so a printed position does not always imply a unique winner. Placement figures are nested inside recommendations, and framing describes wording rather than quality, so none of these columns substitutes for another.

Questions This Section Answers
- How often did the November 2026 Cloud Storage answer sample recommend any tracked company?
Answer-level result | Qualified answers | Share of qualified answers |
|---|---|---|
At least one tracked company mentioned | 619 | 100.00% |
At least one tracked company recommended | 398 | 64.30% |
No tracked company recommended | 221 | 35.70% |
Multiple tracked companies recommended | 371 | 59.94% |
398 distinct answers recommended at least one tracked company. Counting each company recommendation separately gives 1754, because an answer can recommend several companies. Answers with no tracked recommendation may still have recommended companies outside this comparison.
Almost every reviewed answer named at least one tracked company, but a smaller majority recommended one. Because a single answer can endorse several companies, company-level recommendation totals exceed the number of answers containing any tracked recommendation; the two figures answer different questions and should not be compared as if they shared a denominator.
Answers without a tracked recommendation are not empty answers. They may have discussed companies outside this comparison, or named tracked companies without endorsing them. Coverage therefore describes the reviewed answer set, not overall market presence.
Reach and affirmative recommendation
Google Drive ranks 1 by recommendation count. Mentions: 603 (97.42%); recommendations: 313 (50.57%). Top 3 placements: 234 (37.80%); first-place placements: 128 (20.68%).
Wording about the company: 359 positive, 236 neutral, 8 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 51.9%. The net framing score was 0.58 (defined in Methodology).
290 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 74.76% were Top 3 and 40.89% were first-place.
Google Drive illustrates why mention and recommendation must be separated. It appeared in nearly every reviewed answer, yet roughly half of those appearances also carried an affirmative endorsement. The remaining mentions named the company without a recorded recommendation, which is a measured absence rather than a negative judgment.
Reach measures how often a company surfaces in AI answers. Recommendation measures affirmative endorsement within those answers. A high mention count with a lower recommendation count describes visibility without equivalent endorsement, and neither figure establishes why the pattern occurred.
Recommendation order and placement
Company | Mentions | Recommendation-to-mention ratio | Top 3 / #1 counts | Positive / neutral / negative mentions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Google Drive | 603 | 51.9% | 234 / 128 | 359 / 236 / 8 |
Microsoft OneDrive | 545 | 52.5% | 182 / 77 | 320 / 216 / 9 |
pCloud | 446 | 54.9% | 80 / 21 | 287 / 157 / 2 |
Sync.com | 427 | 47.8% | 47 / 18 | 224 / 202 / 1 |
IDrive | 314 | 51.3% | 51 / 28 | 184 / 129 / 1 |
iCloud | 426 | 34.7% | 63 / 8 | 169 / 249 / 8 |
MEGA | 269 | 48.0% | 81 / 61 | 161 / 108 / 0 |
Dropbox Business | 389 | 30.6% | 60 / 14 | 141 / 241 / 7 |
Box | 220 | 34.5% | 23 / 7 | 85 / 135 / 0 |
Backblaze | 196 | 37.2% | 28 / 12 | 85 / 111 / 0 |
Placement describes where a recommended company sat within an answer's ordering. Top 3 and first-place counts are subsets of recommendations, not additional wins, so they should never be summed with recommendation totals or read as separate achievements.
The recommendation-to-mention ratio varies widely across companies, from strong endorsement shares to much lower ones. That ratio describes the recorded answers only; it is not customer conversion, sales performance or evidence about product quality. Sparse bases warrant caution when a ratio looks striking.

IDrive | 184 | 129 | 1 |
iCloud | 169 | 249 | 8 |
MEGA | 161 | 108 | 0 |

Backblaze | 85 | 111 | 0 |
Framing classifies the wording used about a company in the reviewed answers: positive, neutral or negative. Most mentions across the table skew positive or neutral, with negative wording rare. Net framing condenses that balance onto a single scale, but it measures wording in these answers, not customer sentiment or company reputation.
Positive wording does not establish why a recommendation appeared, and neutral wording does not imply disapproval. Framing and recommendation are recorded separately because an answer can discuss a company favorably without endorsing it.

Only months with verified results are shown. Monthly sample coverage is listed in Methodology.
The monthly snapshots come from separate AI answer samples, and the number of included answers differs between months. Counts and rates should therefore be read together: a lower count can accompany a similar rate, and a similar count can accompany a different rate.
Rank positions in earlier months describe those samples, not a stable ordering. The gap for August is a missing result, not a zero. Comparisons across months show how recorded results changed; they do not establish why.

What the November Rankings Show
These sections answer different questions. Reach asks how often a company appeared in reviewed AI answers. Recommendation asks how often an answer affirmatively endorsed it. Placement asks where an endorsed company sat within an answer's ordering, and framing asks how the wording was classified. None of these measures substitutes for another, and combining them would misstate what was recorded.
The leaderboard orders companies by recommendation count, but ties, differing mention reach and nested placement figures mean a single rank does not capture a company's full profile. A company can be widely mentioned yet endorsed less often, or endorsed less often yet placed prominently when it is. Framing describes wording; it does not establish why endorsements occurred. All results describe the reviewed answer set for the reporting period, not customer surveys, sales data or verified product facts, and recorded changes between months do not establish causes.
Methodology
Questions This Section Answers
- How were the November 2026 Cloud Storage AI visibility measures counted, and what do they not establish?
This benchmark has partial coverage: 3 of 3 planned question categories contributed usable observations; 0 contributed none. This describes question-category coverage, not demonstrated platform outages. Findings apply to the available answer set.
The month in the title is the reporting period. The exact dates when the original AI answers were collected have not been verified.
Each company is counted at most once in each answer that meets the benchmark rules. A recommendation requires both an affirmative endorsement and positive wording. Mention, recommendation, Top 3 and first-place rates use the full benchmark answer total. Top 3 and first-place results are included within recommendations, not added to them.
The recommendation-to-mention ratio divides recommendations by mentions. It describes AI answer wording, not customer conversion. Net framing is positive minus negative mentions, divided by all mentions, on a scale from -1 to +1. It does not measure customer satisfaction or company quality.
Market: US; 10 tracked companies. AI services represented: ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity.
Research screening totals (answer observations can include repeated questions):
Screening measure | Count |
|---|---|
Answers included in the benchmark | 619 |
Answers marked relevant during screening | 671 |
Answers marked reserved (screening label) | 52 |
Answers marked irrelevant during screening | 9 |
Captured answer observations | 800 |
Distinct questions | 517 |
Answer observations marked as mentioning a brand | 800 |
The source does not provide a reader-facing definition of “reserved”; that screening label is reported without inferring a reason for exclusion. Only the included benchmark answers form the rate denominator.
One answer can mention or recommend several companies. Adding company totals would therefore count some answers more than once. The results describe the AI answers reviewed, not independently verified facts about the companies or their products.
Monthly sample coverage:
Reporting month | Answers included | AI services covered | Services |
|---|---|---|---|
Jul 2026 | 690 | 6 | ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity |
Sep 2026 | 704 | 6 | ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity |
Oct 2026 | 702 | 6 | ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity |
Nov 2026 | 619 | 6 | ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity |
Reliable results for August 2026 are unavailable. This is a gap in the history, not a result of zero.
The answer samples differ between months. These comparisons show how the recorded results changed; they do not establish why they changed.
The benchmark covers a partial set of planned question categories, and findings apply only to the answers reviewed. The reporting month labels the period; exact collection dates were not verified. Each company is counted at most once per qualifying answer, and a recommendation requires both affirmative endorsement and positive wording.
Mention, recommendation, Top 3 and first-place rates share the full benchmark answer denominator, and placement results are nested within recommendations. The recommendation-to-mention ratio describes answer wording, not customer conversion, and net framing measures wording rather than satisfaction or quality. Monthly samples differ, so comparisons show recorded change without establishing cause.
