Answer capsule

The November 2026 Online Financial Advisors benchmark compares 10 companies across 439 AI answers that met its inclusion rules. Fidelity leads with 388 recommendations (88.38% of answers). At least one tracked company was recommended in 396 answers; some answers recommended several companies.

The rankings distinguish being mentioned from receiving an affirmative recommendation, then examine placement and the wording used about each company. Earlier monthly results show how counts and rates changed, with each month using its own answer total. These results describe the answers reviewed, not product quality or customer satisfaction. Differences between monthly samples limit comparisons and do not establish why a result changed.

The leaderboard orders companies by how many answers recorded an affirmative recommendation, so it measures endorsement volume rather than mere appearance. A company can be mentioned often yet recommended less often, and placement counts sit inside recommendations rather than beside them. Ties should be read as equal recommendation counts, not as shared or split credit.

Rates use the full benchmark answer total, so a high recommendation count and a high recommendation rate answer different questions. The top three companies cluster closely on recommendations while differing sharply on first-place placements, which shows why volume, reach and position deserve separate readings.

396 distinct answers recommended at least one tracked company. Counting each company recommendation separately gives 1712, because an answer can recommend several companies. Answers with no tracked recommendation may still have recommended companies outside this comparison.

Nearly every qualified answer mentioned at least one tracked company, and most recommended one. Because a single answer can name several companies, the sum of company recommendations exceeds the number of answers carrying any recommendation. That overlap is expected and does not indicate market dominance.

A small share of answers recommended no tracked company; those answers may still have named firms outside this comparison. Coverage therefore describes how often the tracked set appears in the reviewed answers, not how completely the market was captured.

Reach and affirmative recommendation

Fidelity ranks 1 by recommendation count. Mentions: 437 (99.54%); recommendations: 388 (88.38%). Top 3 placements: 352 (80.18%); first-place placements: 258 (58.77%).

Wording about the company: 388 positive, 49 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 88.8%. The net framing score was 0.89 (defined in Methodology).

49 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 90.72% were Top 3 and 66.49% were first-place.

Mention and recommendation are distinct measurements. A mention records that a company appeared in an answer; a recommendation requires an affirmative endorsement alongside positive wording. Fidelity appeared in almost every answer and was recommended in most, but a portion of its mentions carried no recorded recommendation.

Reach alone therefore does not establish endorsement. The gap between appearance and recommendation is where the two measures diverge, and it should be read as a property of the recorded answers rather than of customer behavior.

Top-three and first-place placements are nested within recommendations, not additional wins. A company recommended in an answer may also be placed first, third or elsewhere, and those positions describe ordering within the recommendation rather than separate endorsements.

Because the subsets share a denominator, placement shares should not be added to recommendation shares. Companies with similar recommendation counts can differ widely in how often they occupy the leading position, which makes placement a distinct dimension of the recorded answers.

Framing classifies the wording used about a company in the selected answers. Positive, neutral and negative labels describe how the company was discussed, not customer sentiment, reputation or company quality. Neutral wording is common and does not imply weak endorsement.

A recommendation requires positive framing, so framing and recommendation are related but not interchangeable. The classification cannot explain why a company was framed a particular way, and it should not be treated as evidence of product performance or service quality.

Wording about Fidelity was overwhelmingly positive with no negative mentions recorded. The month-over-month comparison shows lower mention and recommendation counts than the prior month; the samples differ, so the change is reported without an explanation.

Charles Schwab

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Charles Schwab mentions, recommendations and placement?

Charles Schwab ranks 2 by recommendation count. Mentions: 428 (97.49%); recommendations: 381 (86.79%). Top 3 placements: 320 (72.89%); first-place placements: 64 (14.58%).

Charles Schwab holds the second position by recommendation count, with reach close to Fidelity's and a similar recommendation-to-mention ratio. Its distinctive feature is placement: it is frequently shortlisted but comparatively rarely placed first.

Framing was almost entirely positive, with no negative mentions. Both mention and recommendation counts were lower than in the prior month, a recorded comparison across separate samples that does not establish a cause.

Vanguard

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Vanguard mentions, recommendations and placement?

Vanguard ranks 3 by recommendation count. Mentions: 417 (94.99%); recommendations: 368 (83.83%). Top 3 placements: 255 (58.09%); first-place placements: 19 (4.33%).

Wording about the company: 369 positive, 48 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 88.2%. The net framing score was 0.88 (defined in Methodology).

From October 2026 to November 2026, Vanguard's mention count fell from 457 to 417, while its recommendation count fell from 414 to 368. The recommendation rate was 85.54% and 83.83% respectively.

Vanguard ranks third by recommendation count and appears in most reviewed answers, though its recommendation rate trails the two leaders. Its placement profile is the most distinctive among the top three: shortlist appearances are common, but first-place placements are rare.

Wording was predominantly positive with no negative mentions. Mention and recommendation counts were lower than the previous month, and the differing samples mean the change is described rather than explained.

SoFi

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about SoFi mentions, recommendations and placement?

SoFi ranks 4 by recommendation count. Mentions: 232 (52.85%); recommendations: 213 (48.52%). Top 3 placements: 36 (8.20%); first-place placements: 3 (0.68%).

Wording about the company: 214 positive, 15 neutral, 3 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 91.8%. The net framing score was 0.91 (defined in Methodology).

19 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 16.90% were Top 3 and 1.41% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, SoFi's mention count rose from 228 to 232, while its recommendation count rose from 206 to 213. The recommendation rate was 42.56% and 48.52% respectively.

SoFi occupies a middle tier: it appears in roughly half of reviewed answers and is recommended in most of those, giving it a high recommendation-to-mention ratio. Placement is limited, with few shortlist appearances and very few first-place results.

Framing was mostly positive, with a small number of neutral and negative mentions recorded. Both mention and recommendation counts rose from the prior month, a comparison across separate samples that does not establish why.

Betterment LLC

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Betterment LLC mentions, recommendations and placement?

Betterment LLC ranks 5 by recommendation count. Mentions: 172 (39.18%); recommendations: 154 (35.08%). Top 3 placements: 19 (4.33%); first-place placements: 3 (0.68%).

Wording about the company: 154 positive, 18 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 89.5%. The net framing score was 0.90 (defined in Methodology).

18 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 12.34% were Top 3 and 1.95% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, Betterment LLC's mention count fell from 188 to 172, while its recommendation count fell from 182 to 154. The recommendation rate was 37.60% and 35.08% respectively.

Betterment sits in the middle of the ranking, mentioned in a minority of answers but recommended in most of those mentions. Shortlist placements are uncommon and first-place placements rarer still, so its profile is reach-limited rather than endorsement-limited.

Wording was largely positive with no negative mentions. Mention and recommendation counts were lower than the prior month; because the monthly samples differ, the comparison is reported without attributing a cause.

Empower

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Empower mentions, recommendations and placement?

Empower ranks 6 by recommendation count. Mentions: 115 (26.20%); recommendations: 86 (19.59%). Top 3 placements: 26 (5.92%); first-place placements: 4 (0.91%).

Wording about the company: 86 positive, 29 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 74.8%. The net framing score was 0.75 (defined in Methodology).

From October 2026 to November 2026, Empower's mention count fell from 134 to 115, while its recommendation count fell from 105 to 86. The recommendation rate was 21.69% and 19.59% respectively.

Empower's profile is notable for a lower recommendation-to-mention ratio than most peers: it appears in a quarter of answers but is recommended in fewer. Neutral wording is comparatively common, and shortlist placements occur more often than its recommendation volume alone would suggest.

No negative mentions were recorded. Both mention and recommendation counts were lower than the prior month, a recorded change across separate samples that does not establish why.

Wealthfront Corporation

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Wealthfront Corporation mentions, recommendations and placement?

Wealthfront Corporation ranks 7 by recommendation count. Mentions: 64 (14.58%); recommendations: 59 (13.44%). Top 3 placements: 11 (2.51%); first-place placements: 4 (0.91%).

Wording about the company: 59 positive, 5 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 92.2%. The net framing score was 0.92 (defined in Methodology).

From October 2026 to November 2026, Wealthfront Corporation's mention count fell from 75 to 64, while its recommendation count fell from 72 to 59. The recommendation rate was 14.88% and 13.44% respectively.

Wealthfront appears in a modest share of answers but carries one of the highest recommendation-to-mention ratios in the set, meaning most appearances included an endorsement. Shortlist and first-place placements are both limited in absolute terms.

Framing was almost entirely positive, with few neutral mentions and none negative. Mention and recommendation counts were lower than the prior month; the differing samples mean the change is described rather than explained.

Facet

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Facet mentions, recommendations and placement?

Facet ranks 8 by recommendation count. Mentions: 63 (14.35%); recommendations: 55 (12.53%). Top 3 placements: 10 (2.28%); first-place placements: 6 (1.37%).

Wording about the company: 55 positive, 8 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 87.3%. The net framing score was 0.87 (defined in Methodology).

8 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 18.18% were Top 3 and 10.91% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, Facet's mention count rose from 58 to 63, while its recommendation count rose from 54 to 55. The recommendation rate was 11.16% and 12.53% respectively.

Facet's reach is similar to Wealthfront's, but its placement profile differs: a larger portion of its recommendations reach the shortlist, and first-place placements are comparatively frequent for its size. Its recommendation-to-mention ratio is solid though below the highest in the set.

Wording was mostly positive with some neutral mentions and none negative. Both mention and recommendation counts rose slightly from the prior month, a comparison across separate samples.

Ellevest

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Ellevest mentions, recommendations and placement?

Ellevest ranks 9 by recommendation count. Mentions: 8 (1.82%); recommendations: 6 (1.37%). Top 3 placements: 1 (0.23%); first-place placements: 0 (0.00%).

Wording about the company: 6 positive, 2 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 75.0%. The net framing score was 0.75 (defined in Methodology).

2 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 16.67% were Top 3 and 0.00% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, Ellevest's mention count fell from 15 to 8, while its recommendation count fell from 12 to 6. The recommendation rate was 2.48% and 1.37% respectively.

Ellevest appears in very few reviewed answers, and its recommendation count is correspondingly small. With such a sparse base, the recommendation-to-mention ratio and placement shares should be read cautiously, since a single answer can move them noticeably.

Wording was mostly positive with a couple of neutral mentions and none negative. Mention and recommendation counts were lower than the prior month, a recorded comparison that does not establish a cause.

Zoe Financial

Questions This Section Answers

  • What do the November 2026 AI answer results show about Zoe Financial mentions, recommendations and placement?

Zoe Financial ranks 10 by recommendation count. Mentions: 2 (0.46%); recommendations: 2 (0.46%). Top 3 placements: 1 (0.23%); first-place placements: 1 (0.23%).

Wording about the company: 2 positive, 0 neutral, 0 negative mentions. The proportion of mentions that also included a recommendation was 100.0%. The net framing score was 1.00 (defined in Methodology).

0 mentions had no recorded recommendation. Of recorded recommendations, 50.00% were Top 3 and 50.00% were first-place.

From October 2026 to November 2026, Zoe Financial's mention count fell from 4 to 2, while its recommendation count fell from 4 to 2. The recommendation rate was 0.83% and 0.46% respectively.

Zoe Financial appears in only a handful of answers, and every recorded mention also carried a recommendation. Its placement counts are correspondingly tiny, and the strong ratios rest on a very sparse base that warrants caution.

Wording was entirely positive, with no neutral or negative mentions. Mention and recommendation counts were lower than the prior month; with so few observations, the comparison is reported without inferring a trend.

Only months with verified results are shown. Monthly sample coverage is listed in Methodology.

The monthly snapshots come from separate answer samples, so counts and rates should be read together rather than as a continuous series. A company's rank can hold while its counts and rates move, and smaller answer totals do not by themselves explain those movements.

Rank stability across the three months is a recorded observation, not evidence of equivalent sampling or of underlying standing. The comparisons show how results changed; they do not establish why.

What the November Rankings Show

The November results show that reach, recommendation, placement and framing answer different questions. A company can appear in nearly every answer yet not be endorsed in all of them; it can be recommended often yet rarely placed first; and positive wording in an answer does not by itself establish why an endorsement occurred or did not occur.

Reading the leaderboard as a single hierarchy flattens these distinctions. The top three cluster on recommendation volume but diverge on first-place placement, while middle-tier companies differ more in reach than in endorsement. Sparse profiles at the bottom carry ratios that rest on very few answers. These are descriptions of the reviewed AI answers, not measures of customer behavior, sales or company quality, and the monthly samples differ, so changes between months are recorded comparisons rather than evidence of improvement, decline or causation.

Methodology

Questions This Section Answers

  • How were the November 2026 Online Financial Advisors AI visibility measures counted, and what do they not establish?

This benchmark has partial coverage: 3 of 3 planned question categories contributed usable observations; 0 contributed none. This describes question-category coverage, not demonstrated platform outages. Findings apply to the available answer set.

The month in the title is the reporting period. The exact dates when the original AI answers were collected have not been verified.

Each company is counted at most once in each answer that meets the benchmark rules. A recommendation requires both an affirmative endorsement and positive wording. Mention, recommendation, Top 3 and first-place rates use the full benchmark answer total. Top 3 and first-place results are included within recommendations, not added to them.

The recommendation-to-mention ratio divides recommendations by mentions. It describes AI answer wording, not customer conversion. Net framing is positive minus negative mentions, divided by all mentions, on a scale from -1 to +1. It does not measure customer satisfaction or company quality.

Market: US; 10 tracked companies. AI services represented: ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity.

The source does not provide a reader-facing definition of “reserved”; that screening label is reported without inferring a reason for exclusion. Only the included benchmark answers form the rate denominator.

One answer can mention or recommend several companies. Adding company totals would therefore count some answers more than once. The results describe the AI answers reviewed, not independently verified facts about the companies or their products.

July 2026 measured a different set of companies, so it is excluded from this comparison. August 2026 measured a different set of companies, so it is excluded from this comparison.

The answer samples differ between months. These comparisons show how the recorded results changed; they do not establish why they changed.

The benchmark covers a partial set of question categories, and findings apply only to the answers included. The reporting month labels the period, though exact collection dates were not verified. Each company is counted at most once per answer, and placement results are subsets of recommendations rather than additions.

The recommendation-to-mention ratio and net framing describe answer wording, not customer conversion, satisfaction or company quality. One answer can name several companies, so company totals overlap. Monthly samples differ, and comparisons show recorded change without establishing its cause.
