Benchmark Summary

Questions This Section Answers

  • Which travel insurance brand leads the AI recommendation benchmark, and by how much?
  • Which brands declined most against the July 2026 baseline?

Seven Corners leads the Travel Insurance benchmark in October 2026 with valid recommendation coverage of 79.3%, a 5.5-point gap ahead of Travelex at 73.8%. The category recorded no significant month-over-month movement this month: no brand's October 2026 coverage moved beyond normal month-to-month variation relative to September 2026, and the standings at the top of the table were unchanged.

Measured against the July 2026 baseline, five brands are classified as significant decliners and two are stable. World Nomads recorded the largest baseline-to-current decline, falling 13.0 points from 78.4% in July 2026 to 65.4% in October 2026, followed by Tin Leg at down 8.9 points (40.6% to 31.7%), Faye at down 6.1 points (36.3% to 30.2%), Generali Global Assistance at down 4.6 points (13.2% to 8.6%), and HTH Travel Insurance at down 4.6 points (15.0% to 10.4%). No brand recorded a significant baseline-to-current increase this period. Both stable brands, Seven Corners (79.2% to 79.3%) and Travelex (76.7% to 73.8%), moved within normal variation across the full series.

Faye's decline from 32.7% in September 2026 to 30.2% in October 2026, down 2.5 points, was the largest single-month move in the category and the brand's third consecutive month of decline.

The benchmark began with 800 prompt-surface observations in each month and produced 775 qualified observations in October 2026 after qualification.

Top-three rate is the share where the brand ranks in the top three positions. Rank-one rate is the share where the brand is recommended first. Net sentiment is the share of positive mentions minus negative mentions.

Citations are moderately concentrated: the top 10 domains account for a combined 55.1% of all citations, with the remaining 493 unique domains sharing the rest. The list is dominated by third-party review, comparison, and personal-finance publishing sites, including two travel insurance marketplaces, rather than by any tracked brand's own domain; no tracked brand's domain appears in the top 10. General news and consumer-finance outlets (usnews.com, forbes.com, money.com) and specialist travel publications (thepointsguy.com) also feature prominently, suggesting that AI recommendation answers in this vertical lean heavily on independent editorial and marketplace comparison content.

Evidence and Source Layer

The benchmark is built from prompt-level observations that retain the query, AI/search surface, answer, brand outcome, recommendation placement, sentiment, and, where exposed, citations or attributable evidence sources. Source presence is evidence about the information environment. It is not automatically proof that the source caused the recommendation.

Scope Boundaries

This public benchmark does not measure market share, attributable sales, every possible AI response, organic-search ranking, social mention volume, private or sponsored channels, or causality from a metric movement alone.
