How Citation Counts Work
A Citation Occurrence is one normalized URL cited in one valid AI research response. The same normalized URL may contribute no more than one Citation Occurrence within the same response. It may count again when cited in a different response, study, or AI platform.
Different URLs from the same domain are separate Citation Occurrences. To prevent that from overstating a domain’s breadth, the index also reports Citing Responses, which counts a domain no more than once per valid response.
Response Coverage is calculated by dividing Citing Responses by all valid responses in the selected scope, including valid responses containing no citations. Failed and excluded responses are not included in that denominator.
