Research Scope and Qualification
Questions This Section Answers
- How does the raw prompt collection narrow down to the 569 qualified observations used in the public benchmark?
The public benchmark is narrower than the raw collection universe by design. The following table shows how the raw prompt collection narrows to the qualified observations that form the public denominator.
Research stage | Jul 2026 | Oct 2026 | What it represents |
|---|---|---|---|
Source prompt-surface observations | 800 | 800 | Total prompts collected across AI/search surfaces |
Unique questions | 583 | 644 | Distinct questions after deduplication |
Brand / competitor mentions | 800 | 800 | Prompts mentioning a tracked brand or competitor |
Relevant observations | 723 | 687 | Prompts relevant to the vertical |
Irrelevant observations | 77 | 113 | Prompts not relevant to the vertical |
Qualified benchmark observations | 590 | 569 | Public denominator after qualification |
Brand-level percentages use the qualified observations as the public denominator, not the raw collection. See AI Visibility Market Discovery Methodology.

Evidence and Source Layer
The benchmark is built from prompt-level observations that retain the query, AI/search surface, answer, brand outcome, recommendation placement, sentiment, and where exposed, citations or attributable evidence sources. Source presence is evidence about the information environment, not automatic proof that the source caused the recommendation.
