How to Read the Standings
- Presence rate: share of qualified observations where the brand appears in any form.
- Valid recommendation coverage: share of qualified observations where the brand receives a valid recommendation.
- Top-three rate: share of qualified observations where the brand appears in the top three recommended positions.
- Rank-one rate: share of qualified observations where the brand is the top-ranked recommendation.
- Net sentiment: positive mentions minus negative mentions divided by total mentions, scored from -1 to 1.
For formulas and denominator rules, see AI Market Discovery Metric Definitions.
Grater Digital: Current Position
Grater Digital holds 0.0% presence rate, 0.0% valid recommendation coverage, 0.0% top-three rate, 0.0% rank-one rate, and 0.0 net sentiment in the August 2026 benchmark. Per the Recommendation Coverage Movement data below, this is unchanged from the July 2026 baseline, meaning Grater Digital has not yet registered a single qualified appearance, recommendation, or ranked placement across the 584 qualified observations measured this month.
SmartSites records 58.7% valid recommendation coverage, while Grater Digital stands at 0.0%. The more important issue is what that gap means for Grater Digital's recommendation position: across the two months measured, the category leader has been recommended in well over half of qualified observations, while Grater Digital has not been recommended, placed in a top-three position, or measured with any sentiment in a single one. This is a material gap on the benchmark's primary commercial metric, and it has shown no movement in either direction since the baseline period.
Highest-priority diagnostic: Why does Grater Digital have zero qualified presence, recommendation, or placement across all tracked AI/search surfaces in both measured months, and what would be required to establish even initial, measurable visibility on this benchmark?

The decline was accompanied by a fall in presence rate from 8.2% to 5.5%, while the rank-one rate also slipped from 1.8% to 0.9%. The top-three rate moved slightly higher, from 3.1% to 3.6%.
Category Leader: SmartSites
SmartSites remained the category leader in August 2026 at 58.7% valid recommendation coverage, down from 62.1% in July 2026. The decline was within normal month-to-month variation. Recommendation Placement Snapshot
Coverage alone does not show how prominently a brand is recommended. Among the two leading brands, SmartSites held a top-three rate of 43.3% in August 2026, essentially level with 43.1% in July 2026. LYFE Marketing's top-three rate was 19.0% in August 2026, down from 20.4% in July 2026.
Brand | Aug 2026 top-three rate | Aug 2026 rank-one rate | Jul 2026 top-three rate | Jul 2026 rank-one rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
SmartSites | 43.3% | 22.1% | 43.1% | 22.3% |
LYFE Marketing | 19.0% | 7.4% | 20.4% | 10.1% |
Even where coverage is similar, first-position rates can differ meaningfully, so placement matters alongside raw coverage.

Evidence and Source Layer
The benchmark is built from prompt-level observations that retain the query, AI/search surface, answer, brand outcome, recommendation placement, sentiment, and where exposed, citations or attributable evidence sources. Source presence is evidence about the information environment. It is not automatically proof that the source caused the recommendation.
Scope Boundaries
This public benchmark does not measure:
- Market share or sales attribution
- Every possible AI response to every possible query
- Organic-search ranking positions
- Social media mention volume
- Private or sponsored channel performance
- Causality from a metric movement alone
