Benchmark Summary

Docebo and TalentLMS are tied for the lead in the Learning Management Systems category in August 2026, each holding 7.4% valid recommendation coverage. Docebo takes the top rank on the strength of a higher rank-one rate (1.6% versus TalentLMS's 1.1%). No tracked brand recorded a significant increase in valid recommendation coverage this month. All ten tracked brands recorded significant declines in valid recommendation coverage compared with July 2026, the widest being TalentLMS (44.8% to 7.4%, down 37.4 points) and the narrowest being D2L Brightspace (7.9% to 0.7%, down 7.2 points). Moodle also recorded a large decline, from 39.8% to 5.8%.

The current benchmark reflects movement across every tracked brand rather than an isolated shift: each brand's decline in valid recommendation coverage exceeded the threshold for significant movement in this series. The underlying prompt collection totaled 800 prompt-surface observations in July 2026 and 600 in August 2026, producing 467 and 447 qualified observations respectively after qualification.

How to Read the Standings

  • Presence rate: share of qualified observations where the brand is mentioned, regardless of recommendation status.
  • Valid recommendation coverage: share of qualified observations where the brand appears in a valid recommendation shortlist.
  • Top-three rate: share of qualified observations where the brand appears in the first three recommendation positions.
  • Rank-one rate: share of qualified observations where the brand is the first recommendation.
  • Net sentiment: positive minus negative mention tone, divided by total mentions, ranging from -1 to 1.

Evidence and Source Layer

The benchmark is built from prompt-level observations that retain the query, AI/search surface, answer, brand outcome, recommendation placement, sentiment, and where exposed, citations or attributable evidence sources. Source presence is evidence about the information environment. It is not automatically proof that the source caused the recommendation.

Scope Boundaries

This public benchmark does not measure market share, attributable sales, every possible AI response, organic-search ranking, social mention volume, private or sponsored channels, or causality from a metric movement alone.
