Questions This Section Answers

  • Which PEO brands lead the October 2026 benchmark, and how wide is the gap between them?
  • Which brands recorded a month-over-month coverage move beyond normal variation?
  • How did the category trend across the full July to October series?

ADP TotalSource leads the PEO Services benchmark with 44.9% valid recommendation coverage in October 2026, ahead of TriNet at 41.5%, a gap of 3.4 percentage points. Valid recommendation coverage is the share of qualified observations in which a brand receives a valid recommendation.

Four brands recorded a significant month-over-month move in valid recommendation coverage beyond normal variation for their own series: ADP TotalSource (up 7.5 points to 44.9%), Insperity (up 7.1 points to 38.9%), Rippling PEO (up 7.0 points to 33.5%), and Paychex PEO (up 6.8 points to 27.8%). The remaining tracked brands moved within normal month-to-month variation.

Across the full July to October series, the category moved broadly upward from the September trough. TriNet recorded the largest increase from baseline, rising 5.3 percentage points from 36.2% in July 2026 to 41.5% in October 2026, and Insperity rose 4.9 percentage points from 34.0% to 38.9% over the same period. Justworks recorded the largest decline from baseline, falling 2.0 percentage points from 43.2% in July 2026 to 41.2% in October 2026. Most tracked brands declined or held between August 2026 and September 2026, while CoAdvantage, Justworks, and Vensure Employer Solutions edged up over that span; every brand except Vensure Employer Solutions then rose between September 2026 and October 2026.

Evidence and Source Layer

Questions This Section Answers

  • What does the benchmark retain for each prompt-level observation?
  • Does source presence prove that a source caused the recommendation?

The benchmark is built from prompt-level observations that retain the query, AI/search surface, answer, brand outcome, recommendation placement, sentiment, and, where exposed, citations or attributable evidence sources. Source presence is evidence about the information environment. It is not automatically proof that the source caused the recommendation.

Scope Boundaries

This public benchmark does not measure:

  • Market share or revenue share
  • Attributable sales or pipeline outcomes
  • Every possible AI response, only the qualified observation set
  • Organic-search ranking
  • Social mention volume
  • Private or sponsored channels
  • Causality from a metric movement alone
